Upcoming season update :

BSV Britannia would be fielding 3 teams this year -

1. Bundesliga T20 and 50 Overs Rohit Singh will continue to lead the team, and it is a matter of pride that the German national team captain is also our caption.

2. Regionaliga T20 and 50Overs - Darshak Savaj is the T20 captain and will lead our 50 over team.

3. We have a new Team playing in the T20 Verbandsliga this year.

Yesterday evening saw the 2024 AGM take place at BSV Britannia 1892. The following members were elected to the club board.

Vice Chair: Harmanjot Singh (Rohit)
Treasurer: Anirban Dan
Auditors: Varun Mehta and Barathvaaj Ganesan

The club would like to wish the new board great success in their future work and a great season ahead, and would also like to offer its heartfelt thanks to the members leaving their positions.

2023 will be an exciting year with the team having a great mix of long timers and new comers 🙂

Now that the winter is well and truly behind us (hopefully 😅), it's time to get started with the cricket season for 2023.

We have two teams from BSV competing across different leagues, tournaments and formats.

Here's a series of posts that'll give you an insight into their journey till date and what's in store for 2023.

Let’s begin with a recap from Britannia’s best match of 2022

We were in the qualifiers for the T20 Bundesliga playing away at Kiel.

After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, we started off with a good power play, restricting the opponent to less than 35 runs and picking up 2 wickets. The opposition, taking rightful advantage of their home ground where our team has never played, fought back up to put up a competitive total of 152, in spite of a great bowling performances from our boys, especially Ayush and Gurpreet.

Our chase derailed before we could even settled in, but then Sanish proved why he is one of the best batsmen in the league, leading from the front in what should have been a well deserved century, scoring 99 and taking us over the line in 17.2 overs!

That match, against all odds, ensured that Britannia will be playing in the Bundesliga T20 league 2023 for the first time ever.
