For our second game of the season, a nine man strong team travelled all the way to Hohenschönhausen to play FC Ballcelona Oldies on the old "Bunte Liga" pitch.

It was a fair and even game throughout and despite us creating one goal scoring opportunity after another, unfortunately it was our finishing that let us down in the end, not our lack of trying.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​​
The opponents were clinical in their finishing and grabbed the 3 points after the final whistle. Thanks to FC Ballcelona Oldies for the fair game (especially since we played without a ref).

On a grey and drizzly (but occasionally sunny) Saturday morning, a determined ten man strong FCKP team faced VSG Weberwiese 72 on their home turf.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​​
In the first half both teams were working hard to create chances in front of goal, only to be denied by some great saves on both sides or by only just missing the target. Then, finally, one minute before halftime, it was Jonas who found himself in some space in midfield and he cooly slotted the ball in to the bottom right corner to give us the lead!
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​​
Starting where we left off, we took control of the game in the second half and could quickly increase our lead with a fantastically headed goal by Kyle, after an equally fantastic cross by Bjorn.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​​
Not quite done yet, another three goals were to follow before the end of the game, with Jonas getting his second and both Juan and Bjorn putting their names on the score sheet after some excellent team play.

Now satisfied with the five goal lead, concentration started to dwindle a few minutes before the end, giving Tolga the opportunity to shine and keep his clean sheet.

Exactly 357 days after our last encounter with the team of Grüne Tulpe back in 2024 where we suffered an heavy defeat (0:7) we headed back to the grounds of Poststadion to line up for another Monday night match.

As Marian (living in Finland) was in town for a visit, he "trommelte" former and current FCKP players together to have a nice time. Even Brian made it from Ireland. Ezequiel and Dragos came by to meet and greet as well, did not play though.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​​
So we started with 13 total players into the game and both parties tested themselves to get closer towards opponent's goal. Our main attacks got through the center with fast through balls by our midfield and that's also how Darron scored the 0:1 for us by a steep ball by Johannes having it easy 1vs1 against the goalie. But Tulpe is known for not feeling discomforted and struck back shortly after with a deflected ball within our penalty box, no chance for Stefan in goal.

After the half time we dominated the first 10-15minutes with multiple fast attacks via the wings now. Darron's speed was unstoppable and he assisted Bjorn with a cross for the 1:2. Same procedure minutes later with Darron pacing towards base line with a cross in front of the box, this time Tulpe's defender managed to bring it into his own net (1:3).

Steffen then found Darron with another through ball behind the Tulpe defence and scored for the 1:4. Bjorn (1:5) and again Darron (1:6) increased the lead fast. But now Tulpe found their momentum of around 10-15minutes (till the 80th minute) and penetrated our defence to create chaos and they managed to get close to 5:6 but in the end we luckily managed to get the win over the 90 minutes.

In the "Kellerduell" of this match day we hosted the team of Ü-100 at the Lobeck grounds on a very rainy evening.

Our squad started promising with two free kicks towards the goal where Stefan first and then Vince missed their chance by a few inches.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
On a high ball by Jon over the last defender towards Marian let him be 1vs1 against the goalie, he lobbed it and scored but the referee decided handball for whatever reason (as it came off the chest clearly).
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
The opponent meanwhile tried to keep the ball between the own lines and tried to attack via their sole striker, so far unsuccessful and no harm for Tolga in goal in the first half.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
The second half started with a long ball towards Jonas who positioned left of the box and volleyed the ball just short of the right post.

Shortly after a ball came through the middle towards Nick but the goalie made it a second earlier to the ball to clear, but a collision was unavoidable (see photo).

It was a good strategy to get close to the goal, through balls in front of the goal; another one reached Marian in time in front of the goal and he curved around the goalie but missed somehow unluckily the goal.

We were closer to the lead than ever when an attack passed through our defence on the left side (elbowed their way through) and the power shot into the right corner could not be saved by Tolga...this happened a minute before the final whistle.
