Postpartum Decoded has begun.

Last week we opened the conversation around what really happens after birth — beyond the usual “give it time” advice.

Together with Paola, we explored hormonal shifts, tissue repair, nervous system recalibration, and why postpartum recovery is a whole-body process.

This is a space for education, conversation, and community.

Upcoming sessions:

12.06 · Your Brain & Nervous System
19.06 · Fuelling & Rebuilding Your Foundation
26.06 · Integration & What Comes Next

You can still join individual workshops.

Babies are welcome.

There's a reason morning movement feels different. Your body is already ready, you just have to meet it.

Swipe to understand what's actually happening.

What actually happens after birth?

Hormonal shifts. Brain changes. Nervous system recalibration. Physical recovery. Identity shifts. Depletion.

Many mothers experience these changes, yet few are given the information, support, or community to understand what is happening.

Postpartum Decoded is a four-week recovery and education series with computational biologist and mother Paola Carrillo Bustamante.

Together we'll explore what happens to the body, brain, and nervous system after birth — and how to support recovery with greater understanding and confidence.

Join the full series or attend individual workshops.

Babies are welcome.

Starting 05.06 at LUMI.

It's not just tight muscles.

We treat the body like a collection of separate parts. A tight hamstring. A stiff neck. A sore lower back. So we stretch the back of the leg, harder and longer, wondering why nothing shifts.

But your anatomy doesn’t work in isolation.

Inside you is a continuous, living web called fascia. It wraps around every muscle, organ, and nerve in one seamless net. It has no beginning and no end.

When your hamstrings feel locked, the restriction might actually be starting in the soles of your feet, or the fascia of your lower back. You cannot pull on one part of a web without affecting the whole.

This is why pushing harder rarely works. Fascia doesn’t respond to force. It responds to time. To slowness. To sustained, deep gravity.

Muscles like to move, but fascia requires us to stay.

*This is exactly why we practice Yin Yoga.* In our Friday evening class, we hold shapes not to perform them, but to allow the deeper connective tissues to slowly untangle and hydrate. We use breath and time to melt the resistance that effort alone cannot touch.

At LUMI, we don’t just stretch; we speak to the nervous system and the fascial web. We move slowly on purpose, because your body isn’t a machine to be fixed. It’s a landscape to be listened to.

When you hold a stretch, where do you actually feel the resistance? Does it stay in one place, or begin to travel?

You come in carrying the day. You leave feeling better.
Every time.

That's not a promise, it's what our community keeps telling us. 🤍

Feel better. Live brighter.

"I always leave feeling better, physically and mentally."

That's the whole point.
See you on the mat. 🤍

Postpartum recovery is rarely spoken about honestly.
Not just physically — but emotionally, hormonally, neurologically too.

This June, we’re holding a 4-week postpartum workshop series at LUMI with computational biologist and mother Paola Carrillo Bustamante: a space for support, movement, education, and reconnecting with yourself after birth.

Together, we’ll explore recovery, nervous system changes, nutrition, rebuilding strength, and what postpartum healing can actually look like — in community, not isolation.
