In the last six months, something has shifted. I'm the same stubborn and shortsighted human being, but I've gotten quick at catching my mistakes. My favorite go-to questions have become:

"Why is this a problem?"
"What if it was a strength?"
"What is the related problem that, if fixed, would make the current obsession irrelevant?"

This newfound sense has enabled me to cover a massive amount of ground in a very short time. So much so that I felt the need to put pen to paper (yes, that's how I write) and draft the article you can read below.

There are a gazillion reasons why Dune is infinitely cool and why you should watch Part Two as soon as possible.

The first reason is that it will help you understand our times. A force is emerging that will disrupt the world as we know it. And the establishment can embrace it or die.

What do a new force and fear have to do with our current days? You can connect the dots in the comments. In the meantime, here are the best of the other reasons you should head to the nearest theater.

- Watching a movie in a theater is a rebellious act against the status quo. Imagine being in a room with hundreds of people for three hours and not checking your phone. I see no stronger rebellion in our current time.
- Frank Herbert's Dune and Isaac Asimov's Foundation are the fundamental stories shaping modern entertainment. They are the building blocks of Star Wars and the roots that produce every "cinematic universe" we enjoy today.
- World Building. Building a myth. Creating a story that lasts beyond time. That's what modern resiliency is made of. Those capable of building worlds and crafting myths will shape our future. And I am not just talking about creating the next Star Wars, but rather the next Apple.
- The sheer power of the visual entertainment of the desert planet setting will give your visual cortex a much-needed reset. The set design, architecture, ship, weapons, and costume design are delightful.
- Alejandro Jodorowsky tried—and failed—to shoot this movie ages ago. Lynch completely botched it. Denis Villeneuve and his team demonstrated that it's possible.
- The Dune universe is a matriarchy. All female characters have agency, strength, and willpower.
- Timothee Chalamet is divine.

Two days ago, I broke a major rule.

During the monthly open Q&A call, I finally opened up about a major mistake I had made over the past thirteen years.

I’ve been turning deep, spiritual, and real storytelling concepts into simple, practical steps for business people to use easily. I created frameworks and labeled them business storytelling.

For thirteen years, I had a dream that felt impossible: to bring one of my personal passions into my work.

For years, I’ve hesitated to share my private passion for tarot cards due to fear of judgment and the stereotype of tarot as unserious, unscientific, or associated with charlatans.

When stars align

Do you play tennis?

Chances are, you've tried it once or twice. Maybe with a competitive relative or perhaps with a mediocre instructor. You didn't quite ace it. So, without giving yourself a fair chance, you labelled yourself "bad at tennis" and left the court for good without regrets.

You can love or hate tennis or be indifferent toward it. Though, if you think twice, your experience with tennis is very similar to your experience with communication.

There is a court which is a stage, a meeting room, your boss’s office, or Zoom.
There is a ball which is the topic of your interaction: the content.
There is an opponent who is your audience. Your opponent can be competitive, friendly, skilled, unskilled, patient, hungry, focused, distracted, etc.
There is a net which is an environmental hurdle: bad internet connection, a broken presentation, a stomach ake, a difficult conversation.
Finally, there’s YOU, who have no choice. It’s not tennis, it’s work, and you have to play.

Darn. On that court, it is not about the ball, the net, or the opponent. It’s about you! Without you, the game can’t move forward. If you’re not on the court playing, you can’t change the game – any game.

Here's the thing:
I’m a communication coach. I’m not great at tennis, but I have been exactly where you are now.
I didn’t like communication at first, and I found a way to get back on the court, familiarize myself with the racket, hit the ball, give it a trajectory, observe my opponent, learn their moves, and adapt my moves to their game. Then I worked on my own moves and started leading the game. It’s been an exhilarating process.
