I'm Mireia, a LYT Yoga teacher from Barcelona but living in Berlin for the last years. The LYT™ Me I can't wait to share the empowerment that LYT Yoga gave me.

DOs and DON‘Ts:

DO:
✅ Engage your core
✅ Have a neutral pelvis
✅ Lower your knees or use a block to gain strength
✅ Keep your neck long
✅ Start in neutral plank
✅ Stay high and strong, form is the most important

DON‘T:
❌ Shift forward before lowering
❌ Lower your chin and your chest first
❌ Roll shoulders forward (internal rotation)
❌ Look forward and lift your chin

Your elbows don‘t need to be in line with your wrists, it‘s more important to have shoulders above wrists. It‘s more likely to injure your shoulders rather than your elbows when lowering down.
By lowering chin and chest and keeping your butt up you are rolling the glenohumeral head (top of the armbone) forward and leaning into passive structures of your shoulder. Besides, you‘re straining your neck.

The Psoas Major (there’s also a minor) is a long fusiform muscle placed on the sides of the lumbar region of the vertebral column and brim of the lesser pelvis. It is the primary connector between trunk and lower limbs and it helps in stabilising the spine and maintaining posture. It is the main flexor of the hip joint (dynamic function) and stabiliser of the lumbar spine, sacroiliac and hip joints (postural function).

I think this description gets a bit short on this amazing muscle, but hopefully you get an idea.

ASIS: Anterior Superior Iliac Spine, is a bony projection of the iliac bone and an important landmark of surface anatomy (basically the two bony protrusions you can feel at your hips).
Ilium: Part of the pelvis, uppermost and largest part of the hip bone
