GUT HEALTH MEETS AROMATHERAPY – GREETINGS FROM SWITZERLAND!

Today I'm delighted to be speaking at the ARTHES Annual Conference in Aarau, Switzerland, dedicated to gut health!

My presentation, “Aromatherapy & the Human Microbiome – Insights from Science and Therapeutic Practice”, explores the fascinating connections between our gut, skin and oral microbiomes and the potential role of aromatic plants in supporting our health.

I'm particularly looking forward to exchanging ideas with my Swiss colleagues, sharing clinical experiences and learning from fellow speakers Sheila Jacaman and Laura Maruccia.

Because advancing clinical aromatherapy is all about science, collaboration and connecting across borders!

DARMGESUNDHEIT TRIFFT AROMATHERAPIE – GRÜSSE AUS DER SCHWEIZ!

Heute freue ich mich sehr, beim ARTHES-Fachtag in Aarau in der Schweiz als Referentin dabei zu sein! Im Mittelpunkt steht ein Thema, das mich seit vielen Jahren begleitet: unsere Darmgesundheit.

In meinem Vortrag „Aromatherapie & das menschliche Mikrobiom – Impulse aus Wissenschaft und therapeutischer Praxis“ beleuchte ich die faszinierenden Zusammenhänge zwischen Darm-, Haut- und Mundmikrobiom und das Potenzial aromatischer Pflanzen in der therapeutischen Begleitung.

Besonders freue ich mich auf den persönlichen Austausch mit meinen Schweizer Kolleg, neue wissenschaftliche Impulse und die spannenden Beiträge von Sheila Jacaman und Laura Maruccia.

Denn genau das macht unsere internationale Aromatherapie-Community so wertvoll: Wissen teilen, voneinander lernen und gemeinsam die klinische Aromatherapie weiterentwickeln!

Flashback to the Primavera Alumni Meeting in the beautiful Allgäu last weekend, where I had the pleasure of presenting three international initiatives close to my heart:

🌍 ICAN – International Clinical Aromatherapy Network: A global community for education, exchange and clinical excellence, where I serve on the Admin Board alongside Rhiannon Lewis and Magali Lerasle-Girard.

🌿 Fondation Gattefossé: As DACH Coordinator, I introduced the Foundation's programmes supporting clinical aromatherapy and innovative projects.

🌱 Airmid Institute: Protecting our aromatic plant resources, including the Biannual List of threatened and protected Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) – essential knowledge for aromatherapists!

What a wonderful response! Several German colleagues joined ICAN that very day. Now we can stay connected beyond our in-person meetings!

Sharing knowledge, building bridges, growing together. Thank you all for the inspiring conversations!

Rückblick auf das Alumni-Treffen bei Primavera im Allgäu letztes Wochenende, wo ich drei internationale Initiativen vorstellen durfte, die mir besonders am Herzen liegen:

🌍 ICAN – International Clinical Aromatherapy Network: Ein weltweites Netzwerk für Weiterbildung, Austausch und klinische Exzellenz, das ich mit Rhiannon Lewis und Magali Lerasle-Girard im Admin Board mitgestalte.

Besonders schön: Das große Interesse an den Förderprogrammen und an ICAN! Einige deutsche Kolleg:innen meldeten sich direkt an. So bleiben wir auch zwischen persönlichen Treffen verbunden!

Wissen teilen, Brücken bauen, gemeinsam wachsen. Danke für die wunderbaren Begegnungen!

Yesterday's Aromatherapy Training – Part 3 at Neumond reminded me once again why I love teaching.

A wonderful group of healthcare professionals, thoughtful questions, lively discussions and a genuine curiosity to learn and grow together.

Thank you to everyone for your openness, your enthusiasm and the many inspiring conversations. I learned just as much as I hope I could share.

🇩🇪 Neugier ist die beste Grundlage für Lernen. 🌿

Gestern durfte ich bei Neumond den dritten Teil der Aromatherapie-Ausbildung begleiten.

Eine wunderbare Gruppe mit viel Fachwissen, echter Neugier und großem Interesse. Genau so entstehen die schönsten Seminare: durch Fragen, gemeinsames Nachdenken, Ausprobieren und den Austausch von Erfahrungen.

Vielen Dank an alle Teilnehmerinnen für eure Offenheit, eure Begeisterung und die herzliche Atmosphäre. Ich nehme selbst wieder viele neue Ideen und Impulse mit.

🇬🇧 First workshop. Many new ideas. 🌿

Today I had the pleasure of leading my first workshop for Neumond – Düfte der Natur with a wonderful healthcare team.

A heartfelt thank you to the entire Neumond team for your trust and warm welcome. It was a joy to spend the day discussing aromatherapy, aromatic care, and practical applications together.

What I love most about these workshops is that they are never one-way teaching. Every conversation brings new perspectives, fresh ideas, and inspiration for future developments.

I'm already looking forward to the next one!

🇩🇪 Erster Workshop. Viele neue Ideen. 🌿

Heute durfte ich meinen ersten Workshop für Neumond – Düfte der Natur mit einem wunderbaren Team aus dem Gesundheitsbereich gestalten.

Ein herzliches Dankeschön an Antonia Hartl, Alexandra Huber und das gesamte Neumond-Team für das Vertrauen und den großartigen gemeinsamen Start.

Für mich sind solche Workshops immer viel mehr als Wissensvermittlung. Gerade im Austausch mit den Teilnehmenden entstehen oft die besten Ideen – für neue Anwendungen, neue Konzepte und die Weiterentwicklung von Aromapflege und Aromatherapie.

Ich freue mich schon jetzt auf die nächsten gemeinsamen Projekte.

Schon Oktober? Unglaublich, wie schnell dieses Jahr vergeht.

Der Herbst ist da, die Tage werden kürzer – und genau jetzt schätze ich Aromatherapie besonders.

Nach einer inspirierenden AIA-Konferenz in den USA startet für mich ein spannender Oktober: zwei neue Aufgaben, zwei internationale Konferenzen, Workshops und ein wunderbares neues Team.

🇬🇧 The best part of every conference? The people. 🫶

The AIA Conference 2026 was so much more than a scientific meeting.
It was four days of inspiring lectures, thought-provoking discussions, shared meals, long conversations, marshmallows at the bonfire, laughter, new friendships and wonderful reunions with colleagues from around the world.

I feel incredibly grateful to have presented my lecture "Microbiomes & Molecules: Aromatherapy for the Gut, Skin & Mouth" and even more grateful for the conversations that followed. Your questions, experiences and perspectives reminded me once again that the best learning happens when knowledge is shared.
I returned home with new ideas, new collaborations, and a notebook full of inspiration.

Thank you to everyone who made this conference so memorable. It was a joy to learn with you, from you, and alongside you.

I can't wait to see you all again. 💚 (PS - surely on ICAN?!)

🇩🇪 Das Schönste an jeder Konferenz? Die Menschen.

Die AIA Conference 2026 war für mich weit mehr als eine Fachkonferenz.

Vier Tage voller inspirierender Vorträge, spannender Diskussionen, gemeinsamer Mahlzeiten, langer Gespräche und vieler Begegnungen mit Kolleg:innen aus aller Welt.

Ich bin sehr dankbar, meinen Vortrag „Microbiomes & Molecules: Aromatherapy for the Gut, Skin & Mouth“ gehalten zu haben. Noch mehr freue ich mich aber über die vielen Gespräche danach. Eure Fragen, Erfahrungen und Ideen haben meinen eigenen Blick erweitert und mir wieder gezeigt, wie wertvoll der internationale Austausch ist.
Ich fahre mit neuen Impulsen, neuen Freundschaften, spannenden Projektideen und ganz viel Motivation nach Hause.

Danke an jede einzelne Person, die diese Tage so besonders gemacht hat. Ich freue mich schon jetzt auf unser Wiedersehen. (auf alle Fälle bei ICAN 💚)

AIA Conference 2026 | My Lecture / Mein Vortrag

Yesterday I had the pleasure of presenting my one-hour lecture, "Microbiomes & Molecules: Aromatherapy for the Gut, Skin & Mouth," at the Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA) Conference in North Carolina.

It was a wonderful experience to speak in such a beautiful venue alongside inspiring colleagues. I especially enjoyed the lively discussion afterwards and the many thoughtful questions about the microbiome, clinical aromatherapy applications, and treatment approaches.

Thank you to everyone who attended. It was a pleasure meeting so many colleagues and friends again. I hope our conversations continue long after the conference. 🫶

Gestern durfte ich meinen einstündigen Vortrag „Microbiomes & Molecules: Aromatherapy for the Gut, Skin & Mouth“ auf der AIA Conference 2026 der größten US-amerikanischen Aromatherapie-Vereinigung zu deren 20. Jubiliäumsjahr halten.

Ich freue mich sehr über das große Interesse, die vielen spannenden Fragen zum Mikrobiom und zu aromatherapeutischen Anwendungen und natürlich über die vielen schönen Begegnungen mit Kolleg:innen und Freund:innen aus der internationalen Aromatherapie-Community.

Greetings from North Carolina! 🇺🇸🌿

Nach rund 16 Stunden Reise bin ich gut im wunderschönen Kanuga Inn & Conference Center angekommen – und schon jetzt weiß ich: Die Reise hat sich gelohnt.

In den kommenden vier Tagen findet hier die 20. Jubiläumskonferenz der Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA) statt. Kolleg:innen aus den USA, Panama, Australien, Großbritannien, Deutschland und vielen weiteren Ländern kommen zusammen, um Wissen, Erfahrungen und neue Ideen rund um die klinische Aromatherapie auszutauschen.

Das Conference Center ist ein ganz besonderer Ort: eingebettet in die Natur, direkt an einem See, mit Wanderwegen, Feuerstelle, Booten und einer Ruhe, die man sofort spürt. Ein perfekter Rahmen, um sich auf inspirierende Begegnungen und intensive Fachtage einzulassen.

Am Donnerstag darf ich selbst meinen Vortrag "Microbiomes & Molecules: Aromatherapy for the Gut, Skin & Mouth" halten. Darauf freue ich mich ganz besonders.

Jetzt heißt es erst einmal ankommen, durchatmen und die besondere Atmosphäre genießen. Die nächsten Tage nehme ich euch gerne mit hinter die Kulissen der Konferenz.
