Bike and AI? Yes it's happening...
Training AI for smart bicycles Bike friendliness of a cycle path depends to a large extent on the surface quality. This allows people who use bicycles for work-related reasons or to complete daily errands and want to keep bike-commuting climate-neutral to perform their tasks faster and in a more pleasant way.
Developed by Holger Caesar, Jason K. Moore, and their students at Delft University of Technology, the SenseBike is equipped with cutting-edge sensors commonly found in autonomous vehicles—such as cameras, lidars, GPS, and inertia measurement units.
As it navigates the city, the SenseBike generates real-time maps of urban environments and captures detailed cyclist behavior data. This information helps improve algorithms for autonomous vehicles and contributes to the design of safer intersections for cyclists.
