हेयं दुःखमनागतम्॥१६॥
heyaM duHkhamanaagatam
heyaM=to be avoided; duHkham=misery; anaagatam=not yet come (future)
Future suffering can be avoided.
I wanna talk about the klesas. Starting this week. Understanding these "afflictions" or "veils" is a starting point for understanding the self and living yoga beyond asana.
But just for fun we'll do the asana too. Including some bird poses we missed last week :)
Come tomorrow. I'm teaching athletic vinyasa 930
and we will continue to lift the veil of ignorance/avidya.
Do come.

Diwali (or Deepavali in Sanskrit) literally means "a row of lights". This beautiful and luminous festival honors the victory of good over evil, brightness over darkness, awareness over ignorance.
It celebrates the return of Lord Ram and his wife Sita to their kingdom of Ayodhya, following Ram's and monkey god Hanuman's defeat of demon Ravan and rescue of Sita from his evil clutches.
On a personal level, Diwali is a time for introspection, to contemplate and dispel our own darkness and personal demons, to connect with our ancestry and those before, explore our own lives and intentions. You might feel inclined to go inwards at this time, and it is a beautiful, supportive time to do so.
Let light shine within yourself, let it guide your life and being, let it shine outwards and share it to light up others.
Namaste.
We wish everyone a joyous, introspective and beautiful Diwali!
