The 2027 World Dwarf Games are scheduled to be held in Australia. This will mark the ninth edition of the Games, following the 2023 event in Cologne, Germany. The Games are organized every four years by the International Dwarf Sports Federation (IDSF) and are the largest international sporting event exclusively for athletes with dwarfism .

While the exact dates and host city for the 2027 Games have not yet been announced, preparations are underway. Athletes and teams are advised to monitor updates from their national dwarf sports associations and the IDSF for information on registration, travel arrangements, and event schedules .

The World Dwarf Games feature a diverse range of sports, including athletics, swimming, soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, archery, boccia, powerlifting, and floor hockey. Congratulations to the 40 athletes selected to represent Australia at the upcoming World Dwarf Games in Cologne, Germany.
Fourteen years ago, in 2009, we sent our first team to Belfast, Northern Ireland. A team of 15 athletes who endeavoured to leave a mark on the world stage - on and off the field. We did, and we have every year since. The fourth team about to represent Australia is the largest team to date, and we know their hard work, determination, and dedication will pay off; it’s now their time to compete on the biggest stage for short-statured athletes.

Team Australia is training hard in preparation for the World Dwarf Games in Germany. The four-day Melbourne camp focused on Soccer and Basketball. To be chosen to represent your nation in any competition is a proud achievement. Team Australia is set to have 40 athletes represent us at the 2023 World Dwarf Games in Germany. Every athlete is training hard, committing to the team and deserves your support to help get them to the games.
