51 teams, torrential rain, and one incredible day of chess in Quezon City 🇵🇭
The WR Chess Bughouse Open Championship 2026 brought together young players, amateurs, and members of the Philippine National Team as a proof that Bughouse keeps growing here.
Huge congrats to Team Bubu Chacha, with IM Jan Emmanuel Garcia and CM Marc Christian Nazario, worthy champions on the day.
What stood out most to me was watching so many young players discover Bughouse for the first time. The energy, the teamwork, the noise. That’s exactly why we do this.
Thank you to the players, National Chess Federation of the Philippines, Quezon City, and the Philippine Sports Commission for making it happen.
