Last week, we opened our trivago campus doors to an evening of real talk on Data & AI in Finance – in collaboration with AI Düsseldorf. 🚀
AI is changing how businesses build, run, and optimize their systems – and the event brought three practical perspectives on exactly how:
🎤 Can Aykul shared how GraphRAG works for financial use cases and the messy reality of running it at scale.
🎤 Nasiba Zokirova covered why pricing in high-consideration markets breaks most assumptions – and what to do about it.
🎤 Vivek Senthil Kumar explored how MCP and AI agents are quietly changing the way teams work with ERP systems.
After the talks, the networking kicked in. It was exactly the kind of evening where the conversations go well beyond the slides. 💬
Thanks to AI Düsseldorf team and our colleagues for bringing this meetup together, and to everyone who joined us. 💪

Another trivago Tech Get Together in the books! 🚀
Over 200 of our tech talents gathered for two days at our annual event dedicated to knowledge sharing, learning, and connecting across our tech teams.
The agenda was packed with presentations and workshops showcasing the incredible work happening across trivago’s tech and product landscape. AI was the standout theme – many talks explored how our teams are applying it in different ways. We’re seeing exponential growth in adoption, bringing us closer to an ambitious vision: our 600+ tech talents making the impact of 6000.
A special highlight was having Gene Kim join us as keynote speaker to share his insights on the impact of AI and agentic workflows, adding inspiration and fresh perspectives to an already powerful agenda.
Hosting the event at Skihalle Neuss added a fun twist – team winter games gave everyone a chance to connect outside the sessions and enjoy some time together on the slopes.
Now we’re back at our desks, ready to turn all we’ve learned into action!

Our runners at trivago are on fire this spring! 🔥
Yesterday, our team joined B2Run Düsseldorf, keeping the momentum strong after participating in the Uniper Staffelmarathon last month. The atmosphere was fantastic, with lots of fun and great team spirit all around.
The best part? Our running community keeps this energy going all year with regular after-work runs through Medienhafen, right where our office is located. 🏃♀️🏃♂️
It's really nice to see so many of our talents staying active, pushing their limits, and building connections both in and outside the office. 💪

We recently came together for AI Agent Day. 🚀
A moment to align on where trivago is heading with AI, what that means for the work we do, and how we move forward together.
We've been integrating, experimenting, and learning for a while now. Many of our teams are already doing impressive things. AI Agent Day was about taking the next step: creating a shared direction and giving everyone the tools to scale their impact.
Our ambition? For our 600+ people to have the impact of 6000.
To get there, we introduced:
📖 The AI Playbook: our internal guide outlining how we see roles evolving, the stages of progression, and what we're asking of each other. It's a living document that we'll keep shaping together.
🤖 Claude: our new AI solution, now available company-wide. For three years, our in-house solution trivago Copilot helped us build real internal AI capability. Claude is the next step: after testing, it matched our evolving needs and showed the potential to help us scale further.
📈 AI Role Evolution Agent: a tool that helps our talents map how their roles could evolve with AI, giving concrete recommendations on where to grow.
As a company of 600+ people, AI gives us the opportunity to work at a scale that simply wasn't possible before. We're excited to see what we'll achieve. 💪

Inspiring the next generation of tech talent 🚀
For the fourth year running, we partnered with Hacker School for Girls' Day – Germany's nationwide initiative that gives young women the opportunity to explore careers in tech, science, and beyond.
From hands-on coding sessions led by our tech talents to real career stories and an inside look at trivago through a campus tour, the day was full of energy and discovery. It was great to see the enthusiasm and curiosity of the girls as they dove into programming and explored potential career paths in tech. This initiative is part of our broader commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all aspiring tech talents.
Thank you to everyone who helped bring this day to life! 🙌

Last week, we gathered on campus to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr. 🎉
Coming together gave us the chance to learn about Eid traditions from around the world, share a meal, and create connections across our international team.
With over 75 nationalities at trivago, these moments remind us how much we can learn from each other. Thank you to our talents who organized the event and made this celebration so warm and welcoming, and to everyone who joined. ✨

"In October 2020, I moved from Kyiv to Düsseldorf to join trivago right in the middle of COVID. Rain pouring, empty streets, and a vibe straight out of a Walking Dead episode. The circumstances weren't welcoming, but the people at trivago definitely were. (And for the record, Düsseldorf turned out to be pretty great once it came back to life.)
Since then, my journey at trivago has been anything but boring. I've worked across different teams, picked up a new programming language – Kotlin, which I can't seem to shut up about (you did this to me, trivago) – explored a myriad of technologies, and made a mistake so memorable that my team turned it into a custom mug, so I could literally drink from my mistakes.
At some point, I became a lead, which meant solving even more problems, supporting people, and occasionally pretending to know everything (spoiler: I don't).
Today, I'm working on enhancing trivago's AI search, where things move fast and keep getting more interesting.
What really stands out to me are the people. The culture is open, supportive, and full of smart, fun humans from whom you never stop learning. It truly feels like a place where you'll never walk alone."
