Ausdauer- vs. Kraftsport

Cardio Vs Resistance Training.

This picture is a good example of a physique shaped with cardio versus a physique shaped with weight training, bodyweight being exactly the same in both photos, with a time frame of 2 years apart.

The photo is of Jessica Cant - Athlete, a long term client.

I first introduced Jess to weight training a few years ago, before that, she had been heavily into distance running.

When we started working together, Jess wanted to look ‘leaner and more toned’ a very common goal. I encouraged her to do less aerobic activity, than what she was currently doing, focus on smashing some weights and eating more foods. Yes, MORE FOODS!

Jess is a great client, she is compliant with her nutrition and training, has worked upto maintaining her bodyweight on 3000cal/day in the offseason (This female actually has productive offseasons!) and can pull some crazy numbers in the deadlift, 60kg x 200, 140kg x 3, 150kg x 1, all with no belt and no straps. All of the above has contributed to the great results Jess has achieved, over the last few years.

Well done Jess, you will soon be deadlifting more than me… :/

So, the moral of the story is; For optimal body composition, focus on fueling the body with proper nutrition and lifting some fkn weights... not just eating salads and running marathons.

Man muss nicht immer "ausmaxen" um maximal zu wachsen ;)

Kann man machen, muss man aber nicht. Risiko vor Verletzungen, "Übertraining", etc können so minimiert werden :)
