This week we're exploring spinal rotation, the movement of turning the spine around its vertical axis.
Twists are more than simply turning farther. They're an opportunity to improve coordination, balance mobility with stability, and develop awareness of how the spine moves as a whole.
As you practice this week, ask yourself:
• Where does your rotation naturally occur?
• Are you initiating the twist from your trunk or relying on your arms for leverage?
• Can you rotate while maintaining length through the spine?
Sometimes the goal isn't twisting deeper. It's twisting with greater awareness.
Teachers, we'd love to see how you're teaching spinal rotation! Share your peak poses, layering postures, or favorite explorations that support this week's throughline. Tag and invite us as a collaborator so we can share your creativity and inspire other teachers.
