Danish Open 2026⛵️💨
Last weekend we were in Kolding for the Danish Open 2026!
On Friday, we started the day with winds of 10–17 knots. The wind was extremely shifty, and it wasn’t easy to pick the right side and tack. After some initial difficulties and repairs, however, we were able to focus well as a team and finish the day in 1st place with a series of 2-1-1-1-1!
The next day initially looked like it would be a full day of strong winds, the conditions eased up somewhat and shifted to the morning. From mid-morning onward, though, we had to switch to a jib, and it was a real battle. The race committee’s plan was to sail five more races, so we were all the more relieved after the third race—with showers and 30-knot winds on the downwind leg at 10.3 knots boat speed—to see the “Ap over A” flag on the starting boat!
We finished Day 2 with a series of 3-1-1 and are thrilled to have won the Danish Open! 🎉⛵️
Thanks to the Kolding Sailing Club and the Danish Class Association for the great event! A huge thank you also to Holt & Nicolaisen and Anderßen Yachting GmbH —without you and your support, this wouldn’t have been possible!
This coming weekend, we’re off to the Cappy Cup before sailing the German Open in Glücksburg the following week!
