𝑛𝑒𝑤 𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑐𝑙𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑠

After a long break of teaching live since the pandemic, the time arrived to open new group classes again.

I'm very happy to be part of the team Zentrum zum Leben, from Shiatsu zum Leben

The upcoming Saturday 30th of April we will celebrate the Open door day. At 13h starts the event and there will be activities from the people teaching and giving bodywork at the center. The entry is for free.

I will be offering a Feldenkrais class from 17h to 18h.
The class is open for everyone to join.
Maybe you've heard of it before but haven't tried, could be great chance to give it a shot.
But maybe, you're totally new to it. Actually...what is Feldenkrais?

Let's make it short: you'll be most likely lying down, and I will guide you through a sequence of movements where you explore how to do them with the minimum effort. That will lead to a refinement in your ability to attend to your sensations. After the lesson there's generally a sense of greater being and more ease on your "own's skin".

The method is directed to understand the way we act and improve our experience, in a particular aspect of our life or globally, to our whole being.

I believe learning is experiential, so the best way to get a grasp to what the method is and if you would like it, would be to come by on Saturday. 🌸🌱

In these days we spend more time sitting than we would wish,

As the work came to our homes we spend hours sitting in front of a computer

Could we make these hours, that for some, feel like a drag, troubling us with aches and complains a space for grace and elegance?

In sitting grace𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 we will explore how to sit fully, discovering how a chair can be a laboratory for learning. Moving in new ways on your very known chairs can be revealing.
3 hours to navigate through different Feldenkrais lessons and develop a new relationship in sitting.

The workshop is from 9h to 12h CET via Zoom

During the Awareness Through Movement lessons you will be guided through a sequence of movements where you will have the time to explore the idea of minimum effort with maximum efficiency.
The lessons begin by lying down and paying attention to how the body makes contact with the floor. It is important to locate which parts have excessive tension and are therefore off the floor. This alone can’t help in your normal life. Awareness of the skeleton and orientation must be increased.
Therefore in the lesson a key point is lying on the floor, but the lesson will lead to different positions: sitting, standing, kneeling, etc. You can use a mat or just the “plain” floor. We use pillows and blankets for support during certain positions.
By reducing muscular effort, you gain the ability to give more attention to feeling and sensing what happens while you are moving. You grow an awareness of the way you think, feel, sense and move - gaining greater ease and clarity - leading you to acknowledge your repetitive patterns, and let go of the ones that are limiting. With this improved attention, you can increase the perception of your self-image, and therefore experience a transformation or change.
All the lessons are arranged to produce a change in sensation at the end and usually result in a more lasting effect. Side effects vary but include improved balance and coordination, developed strength, a sense of alignment, and ease and pleasure of moving.
The lessons take one hour.

Myself as a dancer I find it an indispensable work for improving performance, avoiding injuries and finding your individual movement language.

🍃 Taking time for yourself

We don't always have the ability to get as much sleep as we would like. We don't have it easy to find ways to have rests during the day, not rushing from one thing to the next, exhausted at the end of it. We sometimes give up healthy home-cooked food, because of lack of time, space, in favour of a snacking briefly on the go. We very hardly find time to play, time for exploring, doing the things that enliven our inner child.

We can set best intentions for ourselves – read more books, spend more time with friends, do more exercise, spend more time for creating, painting, playing an instrument...– but it’s easy to let things slide.

Positive changes don't need to involve dramatic turmoil. They can be natural & gentle. Spending at least 5 minutes, lying on the floor, listening to how you are at the moment, can bring more insight than overwhelming for not being capable to introduce new changes to improve the present situation.

Being present,
what a present,
what a gift,

☝️how are you managing to stay present these days?

For me, doing an Awareness Through Movement lesson or little parts of it helps me to remain on the now. Lying on the floor, letting myself breathe and listen to what does the floor can tell me about my state today.

🌱Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons Online🌱

Every Thursday we will take time to explore our relationship with the environment, that is reflected on the way we move. That way we can understand how we act and improve our experience, in a particular aspect of our life or globally, to our whole being.

These online lessons will support you to discover your own learning process and refine your ability to attend to your sensations. Each week we will explore different Feldenkrais principles and you will learn to move, think, feel and sense yourself in action in the world.
