Yes, that’s me mixing a supplement. That’s the point.
Supplements can be useful. I use them myself.
But there is a difference between using something to support a good foundation and expecting it to compensate for a foundation that does not exist.
Buying another capsule, powder or sleep blend feels productive. It gives us the feeling that we are actively solving the problem.
Going to bed earlier is less exciting.
Turning off the laptop is less exciting.
Putting the phone away is less exciting.
Limiting late caffeine is less exciting.
Keeping a consistent wake-up time is less exciting.
But those are usually the things that make the biggest difference.
Your sleep is shaped less by the product you take before bed and more by the signals you repeatedly give your body throughout the day.
Morning daylight.
Regular movement.
Clear boundaries around work.
Time to slow down.
And most importantly: enough time available for sleep!!
Supplements should sit on top of those habits. They should not be used to negotiate your way around them.
So before asking:
“What else could I take?”
Ask yourself:
“What could I stop doing one hour earlier tonight?”

Most people are trying to optimize the final 5% of their sleep while ignoring the 80% that actually matters.
Supplements can support good sleep—but they cannot replace enough time in bed, a consistent wake-up time, morning daylight, regular movement and a clear end to your day.
The basics may not be exciting. But repeated consistently, they make the biggest difference.
Before buying the next sleep supplement, ask yourself:
Could I simply go to bed one hour earlier tonight?
Most people think better sleep starts with the evening routine.
Dark room.
Cool temperature.
Less screen time.
No caffeine too late.
All useful.
But if you spend the whole day half-awake, overstimulated, underfed, underexposed to daylight, glued to screens and running on stress…
your body might not get a clear signal of when the day started — and when it should end.
That’s why one of the most underrated sleep tips is not what you do at 10 PM.
It’s what you do after waking up.
Wake up at roughly the same time.
Get bright daylight.
Move your body.
Drink water.
Eat properly.
Actually wake yourself up.
Your body follows rhythms.
The clearer your morning signal, the easier it becomes for your body to understand when it’s time to wind down later.
Better sleep is often not the result of trying harder at night.
It’s the result of building a better day.
Start tomorrow morning.

You don’t fix sleep only at night.
You fix it also in the morning.
Most people think better sleep starts with the evening routine.
Dark room.

Start tomorrow morning.
Zimmer dunkel, Handy weg, Temperatur runter.
Alles sinnvoll.
Between 40 and 50, you don’t need more extremes.
You need better decisions.
A lot of high performers make the same mistake with their health that made them successful in their career:
They try to maximize everything.
The next race.
The next challenge.
The harder workout.
The bigger goal.
The more extreme routine.
But your body is not another business project.
You don’t need to prove that you can suffer.
You’ve already proven that.
What you need now is a body that supports the life you’ve built.
That means:
sleeping enough,
training consistently,
eating better,
recovering properly,
setting boundaries,
and making the boring decisions often enough that they start to change the direction.
Because if your health breaks, everything else gets harder.
Your job doesn’t win.
Your family doesn’t win.
You don’t win.
So don’t train like you’re trying to escape your lifestyle.
Build a lifestyle you don’t have to escape from.

Your health is not another performance project.
Especially if you’re the kind of person who spent the last 10–20 years building a career, a family, a business, a life.
You already know how to push.
You already know how to perform.
You already know how to keep going.
But your body doesn’t need another extreme challenge.
It needs sleep.
Strength training.
Better food.
Recovery.
Consistency.
Boundaries.
Not a half marathon to prove something.
Not HYROX because everyone else is doing it.
Not an 80 km bike ride after years of doing nothing.
The goal is not to suffer harder.
The goal is to build a body that can support your life.
Start smaller.
Sleep more.
Train consistently.
Stay in the game.

Whatever they say… ich würde kurz zuhören.
