What truly makes a gymnast look elegant, effortless and professional?

Dance technique.

Ballet training builds:

• beautiful arms and port de bras
• balance and turns
• jumps and landings
• clean transitions
• musicality and movement quality
• body control and awareness

Only when combined with dance and performance technique do routines become art.

That is why ballet class should not be an extra — it should be the foundation of every rhythmic gymnast’s training.

Artistry is not only choreography.
Artistry starts in the basic class.

Even as a professional dancer and teacher, taking a student-level class is a completely different experience. You’re not only learning from your colleague, but also from your students—and giving them the chance to learn from you on a whole new level. Teaching them that nobody is perfect, that there’s always something to take away, and that struggling is normal—it’s all part of the process. It gives them the freedom to try, fail, and try again, without too much pressure, with just enough guidance.
