Muay Thai is a martial art and self-defense discipline deeply rooted in Thai culture, passed down through generations. The annual World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony, which will be held March 16 to 17 at Wat Mahathat & Wat Langkao Khao, Ayutthaya Historical Park, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province will allow participants—especially international Muay Thai practitioners—to experience and appreciate the traditions, rituals, and philosophy behind this ancient art.
For all who practice Muay Thai, the Wai Kru ceremony is a sacred tradition, emphasizing respect for teachers and the art itself. Without Muay Thai masters, there would be no Muay Thai fighters.
Last year, over 1,800 participants from 70 countries joined the event.
The event highlights will be the World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony, Muay Thai competitions, traditional Thai martial arts demonstrations, yantra tattooing & sacred ink rituals, and Muay Thai heritage exhibitions.
