From 9–13 February 2026, CIHLMU hosted a 5-day intensive course on Global Mental Health (GMH) and MHPSS interventions 🌍
Throughout the week, participants explored real-world case studies from Ethiopia, India, Gaza, and Germany—diving into topics like mental health determinants, stigma, addiction, help-seeking behavior, and cultural differences in psychiatric symptoms.
With innovative approaches including AI, community-based strategies, and data-driven insights, the course offered practical tools for addressing mental health challenges in diverse contexts 🤝
Bringing together an international group of students from EUGLOH and tropEd partner universities, the course created a truly collaborative and enriching learning environment ✨

From January to March 2026, the Teaching and Training Unit successfully delivered Module Block II for MSc in International Health and PhD students of the 2024 cohort.
During this time, students took part in engaging sessions focused on soft skills, academic growth, and preparing for one of the highlights of the module—the annual symposium 📚
On March 20, students actively contributed to organizing and delivering the symposium, held alongside the LMU Global Health Days. The theme “One Health in an Era of Financial and Geopolitical Shifts” sparked inspiring discussions and interdisciplinary exchange 🌍
The module wrapped up with a warm joint lunch 🍽️—a chance to reflect, connect, and celebrate everything achieved together 🤝
As PhD students departed at the end of March, we wished them safe travels and continued success ✈️ Not a goodbye, just a see you again 💫

The Academic Teacher Training Course – ATTC UnB 2026 was successfully launched at the University of Brasília, bringing together passionate educators from across the health sector 🌍
Coordinated by an incredible academic team, the course kicked off online in February and continued with an engaging in-person week from March 9–13. Throughout the program, participants explored new teaching approaches, shared experiences, and strengthened their skills in a collaborative environment 🤝
With inspiring sessions, dedicated facilitators, and strong international collaboration, ATTC UnB 2026 created a space for learning, innovation, and connection ✨
The journey is continuing as participants apply their knowledge, leading up to the final online symposium on July 11, 2026 🎓

A day full of unforgettable views, culture, and discovery 🌍 From exploring the stunning Fortress Hohensalzburg 🏰, one of Europe’s largest and best-preserved medieval castles, to enjoying breathtaking panoramas over the city and the Alps, every moment felt special.
Wandering through Salzburg’s charming old town added even more magic, with beauty waiting around every corner.
To top it all off, the day ended with a lovely group dinner at Pauli Stubm 🍽️, where students shared delicious Austrian food in a cozy atmosphere. The perfect way to relax, connect, and create lasting memories 🤝

✨ We are delighted to welcome two medical students from the Faculty of Medicine at KGUMSB in Bhutan to LMU Hospital Munich as part of our student exchange programme launched in 2025!
During their two-week visit, the students will explore our hospital, experience modern teaching methods and medical technologies, and discover local culture and traditions in Munich.
This exchange is part of the SDG partnership project “A Trilateral Alliance for Medical Education”, carried out together with KGUMSB Bhutan and Jimma University, Ethiopia — strengthening global collaboration in medical education 🌍🤝

Two undergraduate medical (MBBS) students from the Faculty of Medicine at KGUMSB are currently undertaking an elective placement at LMU, Germany. This experience will provide them with exposure to modern teaching methodologies and advanced medical technologies, enabling the gradual adoption and integration of these practices in Bhutan.

On March 20th, 2026, PhD and Master’s students from the Center for International Health hosted their annual symposium on “Building Resilient Futures: One Health in an Era of Financial and Geopolitical Shifts.” 🌍
Organized as an extension of the LMU Global Health Day, the event brought together a diverse group of participants to explore today’s most pressing global health challenges.
From global political shifts and environmental crises 🌱 to equity in One Health governance and the impact of air pollution, the discussions highlighted just how interconnected our world has become. The symposium wrapped up with a powerful perspective on infectious diseases and Planetary Health 🦠
Overall, it was an inspiring event that emphasized the importance of collaboration and interdisciplinary thinking in shaping more resilient health systems for the future 🤝
