Happiness is having a spouse that knows you well enough to hand you your motorcycle keys and say: "Go ride your bike for a few days and find a nice forest camp.” So I do as I am told.
Here are a few minutes of a short week in the south of Sweden.

I got to try a new kit from Enduristan and the UltraLight Draumr from Amok in Norway. On the road, I tried to take it easy-ish and stay in my lane. To my surprise (and relief) I hardly met any other riders – probably ‘cause I rode weekdays, and in September nights can get a little cold. Fall colors are always nice, just like the peace and quiet of autumn.

It wasn’t my plan at all to come here. But at a TET crossing riding south through Småland toward Skåne, a familiar name turned up a sign. So here I am for the evening, by the lake at Hätteboda. Some of you know it from your own research, many of you I had the pleasure to introduce to this amazing place through the years. But… nothing lasts forever. It got late yesterday- “dinner” (I use the term lightly) was prepared in LED lights.

Thursday through Monday. We ride primarily gravel roads and trails, some TET, some not. We sleep in the forest. Weather forecast looks promising.

Our good friend in Norway, Pål Anders Ullevoldseter flew over the bars in a Super Enduro
Race in Kongsberg this weekend - landing him in the hospital with several broken bones. Beat up and visibly shaken, he promises he will be ready and fit for fight at 2027 Africa Race in January.
