Viking Gaels Hurling

Our 2nd Annual Golf Classic is being held on Saturday 4th July 2026 in Ledreborg Palace just outside Roskilde

A team of 2 is 1500 dkk and includes lunch on the day!

There goes another round of the European Championship and both cups remain on home soil 🇩🇰 once again Viking Gaels had a huge turnout with 50 players pulling on the white and black jerseys 💚🤍🖤

The men's A team topped their cup group while the men's B team did the same in the other cup group, both getting 2 wins from 2 games. The B team just came up short against Luxembourg in the semi final and secured 3rd place overall, an amazing achievement for the club. It was deja vu for Luxembourg as they faced the A team in the final, who secured the victory to lift the hurling cup 🏆 the C team also impressed, reaching the plate final and narrowly losing out to Vienna. All in all, a very strong performance from the Vikings men

In the camogie, Viking Gaels were just as dominant and lifted the camogie cup after defeating a strong Brussels team in the final 🏆 another excellent performance and a statement of intent for the rest of 2026 💪

There's a lot of people we have to thank for making such a great day possible 🙏 Firstly, thank you to all the clubs who made the trip north, we were delighted to see such interest in the 2nd tournament here in as many years. There was a lot of organising and volunteering hours that went into it, so thank you to everyone who made it possible. Thank you to our photographers on the day. Thank you to the referees and everyone at GGE, thank you to Københavns Kommune and Kløvermarken for getting the pitches in tip top shape, thank you to our supporters, friends and family. We will slow down slightly now as summer comes in, but our sights are firmly set on repeating our success in Vienna in September 👀

Viking Gaels open the 2026 hurling & camogie season with silverware in Eindhoven 🏆💚🤍🖤

Our first outing of the year saw our hurlers and camógs fight tooth and nail against Europe's best teams 💪 the hurlers, with some players from Luxembourg GAA , fought a very tight group and were unfortunate to lose to Amsterdam by a single point after drawing against Eindhoven. This set up a shield semi final against a combined Paris Gaels/Setanta Berlin team and we came away with a comfortable victory to reach the final against Hamburg. Again the hurlers kept the opposition's scoring to a minimum while keeping our own scoreboard ticking over to finish with an 11 point winning margin to lift the shield trophy 🏆

The camógs, with players from Lueven GAA, were in a free flowing state of scoring in the group stage to secure top spot with 3 wins from 3. We met Luxembourg then in the semis, and once again the scoring prowess of the Vi-queens was overwhelming and put us in the cup final. Unfortunately the final didn't go our way, as a strong Brussels team ran out winners by a 5 point margin. Nevertheless, a very impressive run for our camógs who will be hungry to secure that cup trophy next time around in Kløvermarken 🇩🇰

A huge thanks to Eindhoven Shamrocks for hosting this round. For the 2nd round of the championship, we won't have to travel far at all, as we host in Copenhagen. Save the date in your diaries: Saturday 6th June. It promises to be an exhilarating day of hurling and camogie, with Europe's best players on show 👑🇪🇺

This year, we are running a new kind of fundraiser

If you reckon you know your hurling (and know the game) then this is for you!

For a mere €10 entry, and a chance to win €200 you can enter our Hurling Championship prediction league.

Starting 19th April with the first round of leinster and munster hurling championships, you can predict the results and margins of each game, with correct selections securing you more points on the league table👀

Some instructions included in the poster below also, make sure to select "Europe" as the county, and search for "Viking Gaels" as your club, this is to make sure you sign up for the correct league👍🏻
