How long does it actually take to charge an electric sailboat? ⚡⛵

With a standard 16A shore power connection, a 14.4 kWh Searine battery setup can go from empty to full in around 4–4.5 hours.

In most marinas, that means you can simply plug in when you arrive and be ready to go again before you need the boat.

And when you’re sailing? The Searine M360° can hydrogenerate along the way, putting energy back into the batteries while the sails move you forward.

Electric sailing might be simpler than you think.

Test sailor and investor Jacob Jelsing just got back from an autumn trip across the Kattegat with his son Jalte and sent us a report from onboard.

Jacob’s trick to extend his range is to keep the sails up, even in very light winds.

And when the wind picked back up, he sent it with the Code Zero and hydrogenerated more than 30% of his power back in just a few hours.

We love getting feedback from our first sailors out there using the system in real life. Even better is seeing them experiment with different ways to save energy, extend their range and get the most out of the system.
