100+ Matches. 1,000+ Reports. One Final Recruitment Plan.
From more than 60 applicants, only a select group reached the final scouting case.
Adil Osman Adil is one of them.
Over the past six months, Adil has worked through the SFA ScoutLAB scouting program, completing practical scouting assignments designed to reflect the realities of recruitment and talent identification in professional football.
Across four modules, participants are challenged to move beyond simply watching matches. They are expected to analyse squads, identify recruitment needs, build shadow teams, create player profiles, and develop recruitment recommendations aligned with a club’s strategy and resources.
Throughout the program, Adil watched and reported on more than 100 matches, producing over 1,000 individual player assessments, benchmark club evaluations, shadow teams, recruitment profiles, and scouting reports across multiple leagues and competitions.
For his final scouting case, Adil selected Odense Boldklub (OB) as his benchmark club.
His assignment focused on evaluating the current squad structure and developing a recruitment strategy capable of supporting both the short-term and long-term ambitions of the club.
The project included:
• Squad structure analysis
• Transfer strategy evaluation
• Identification of recruitment needs
• Development of positional recruitment profiles
• Shadow team construction
• Detailed player scouting recommendations
• Final recruitment prioritisation
One of the strengths of Adil’s work was his ability to connect club strategy with player recruitment, linking squad needs, positional requirements, financial realities, and player suitability into a structured recruitment plan.
Assignments like this require far more than simply watching football. They demand discipline, consistency, critical thinking, and the ability to translate observations into realistic football decisions.
👏 Congratulations to Adil Osman Adil on completing his final ScoutLAB scouting case.
