When we speak about the development and growth of chess in Dominica, **Ross Boyd, Master Ross**, stands as one of the pillars of Dominica Chess. His dedication to the game extends beyond competition — it is about **sharing knowledge, inspiring young minds, and building a stronger future for chess in our country.**

AT Summer School 2026, Master Ross was invited to introduce the children of the community of Pointe Michel to the fascinating world of chess. ♟️🧠

For the youngsters who attended, this was more than learning how the pieces move. It was an opportunity to discover a game that develops **critical thinking, patience, concentration, strategy, discipline, and confidence**.

This is what growing the game is all about — taking chess beyond the board and into our schools, communities, and into the hands of the next generation. 🌱♟️

We salute **Master Ross** for his continued commitment to Dominica Chess and for investing his time and knowledge in our youth.

International Chess Day on the Bay Front was great. We are coming even bigger with our 2nd Annual National Chess Festival on the Roseau Promenade. Chess galore, endless fun and chess to explore. Come on Saturday 15th August, 2026 to play a game of chess!
