I remember this day well. This incident happened right opposite our booth at DEMA. Within seconds of this gentleman falling to the floor someone in my booth had called me to tell me to rush back as they knew both Desiree and I are CPR instructors. We were quite far from our booth at the time. So by the time I had rushed back all the bystanders had stepped in and resuscitated him already and he was being loaded on a stretcher.
I am so proud of Francisca from Fort Young Hotel Dive Center for stepping up without hesitation to help with CPR and play a role in saving a life along with the others. A credit to her character and training. A brave act from a Soufriere born lady. Its been along trip since those first days of your DM training right Fran? As all of us who have done CPR in real life know its an emotional event and its so good when the patient recovers and is now back diving!

Dive Fest 2026 was a great success! We enjoyed introducing more than 30 people to the joys of breathing underwater. Everyone had a wonderful day and the NID staff worked very hard!
