The weird-looking, wonderful reason we love diving the Galápagos, the Hammerhead shark!

These iconic creatures might look a little odd with their wide, flat heads (called a cephalofoil), but that shape gives them superpowers: better vision, sharper turns, and a killer sense of smell.

You’ll often spot them schooling in large groups around places like Gordon Rocks or other dive sites, an unforgettable sight for any diver. If you’re lucky, you’ll see them gliding through the blue!

Don’t worry, they’re more shy than scary. Respect their space, stay calm, and enjoy the magic of being in the presence of such incredible marine life.
