Fencing isn't just a sport. It's about strategy, speed of thought, and precision. And even in group training, the key to true progress is an individual approach.

Why is this so important?

⚔️ Every fencer is unique
Different reactions, stride lengths, attack and defense styles. A one-size-fits-all program doesn't take into account your strengths, and therefore hinders your growth.

⚔️ Technique requires precise adjustment
The slightest error in distance or timing, and the hit is not counted. Individual adjustments within the group help develop movements to the point of automatism.

⚔️ Different levels mean different paces of development
Some people master attacks faster, others defense. A coach who observes everyone helps them keep up and stay motivated.

⚔️ Fighting Psychology - A Personal Story
Fear, aggression, confidence—all of these influence results. Individual work, even in a group, helps develop a fighting spirit.

💡 A premium approach to training means you're not just "one of them," but an athlete whose progress is truly monitored.
Fencing teaches you not only how to defeat your opponent, but also how to understand yourself.

Sabre is considered the fastest and most spectacular fencing form. The duel unfolds rapidly, and the outcome is often decided in a split second. Technique, instant reaction, and decisiveness are essential.
The main characteristic of sabre fencing is its high tempo. After the command, athletes immediately attack, quickly closing the distance, and constantly moving.

What makes sabre dynamic:
— thrusts and cuts count
— the striking area is above the waist
— priority is given to attacking actions
— minimal pauses
— explosive footwork
— high density of attacks and counterattacks

What sabre develops:
— quick reaction
— speed of decision
— sense of distance
— coordination and strength
— concentration under pressure
— mental resilience

Sabre is especially suitable for active children who enjoy movement, a fast pace, and initiative. It helps channel energy into sport and builds self-confidence.

At SBSK, we provide strong foundational training that helps develop any fencing style, including sabre.
Sabre is all about speed, dynamism, and character.

🏆 Student of the Month — Filipp Djatsuk

Filipp's athletic career began at our SBSK school at the age of 10, learning Spochan, a Japanese fencing style. A few years later, thanks to his persistence, discipline, and excellent competition results, he was promoted to the épée fencing group, where he quickly became one of the strongest athletes of his generation in Estonia.

In the 2015/2016 season, Filipp joined the Cadets National Team of Estonia, and a year later, the Juniors National Team of Estonia.

After graduating from Tallinn University and taking a short break for his studies, Filipp returned to professional sports and became a member of the Estonian men's national team in 2023.

His achievements:
🥈 Two-time silver medalist at the Estonian Men's Cup
🥈 Three-time silver medalist at the Estonian Championships (2024–2026)
🥇 Two-time Estonian Team Champion as part of the SBSK team
🌍 16th place at the World Cup stage in Bern among 328 world epee fencers

🏆 2026 Estonian Championship

The SBSK team once again confirms its high level of preparation on the national stage.
29 boys and 41 girls from nine leading Estonian fencing clubs participated in the tournament. Our athletes demonstrated strong fencing, character, and competitive resilience in both the individual and team competitions.

👏 Personal Results:
🥇 Jevgenia Bobrova — 2026 Estonian Girls’ Champion
🥉 Goran Ilikajev — Bronze Medalist at the 2026 Estonian Boys’ Championship

The team portion of the competition was particularly tense.
The boys’ semifinal against IREM kept the tension high until the final seconds. Despite losing the lead before the final bout, Goran Ilikajev confidently won the decisive mini-match 5-3, leading SBSK to the final. Following the tournament, our boys won silver medals at the Estonian Championships.

The SBSK girls’ team also demonstrated a high level of competitiveness.

In the decisive semifinal bout, Jevgenia Bobrova, trailing three times before the final bout, managed to tie the score and, with a priority bout, advance her team to the finals, 45-44.

The final against the IREM club ended with a minimal score of 44-45.

Our girls won silver at the 2026 Estonian Championships.

These results reflect the systematic preparation, discipline, and long-standing work of the athletes and coaching staff.
SBSK is a school of professional fencing and strong characters. 🤺🔥

In children's sports, progress is driven not by individual sessions, but by a consistent training system. One-off sessions can be emotional and challenging, but a systematic approach ensures stable development, safety, and long-term results.

A system is a process where each session has a goal and builds on the previous one. A child masters skills step by step, strengthens their physical fitness, and develops coordination and confidence. Without a system, sessions become a collection of random exercises. Progress slows, and interest is often lost.

What a systematic approach provides:
— gradual and safe development
— correct technique
— sustainable physical progress
— coordination and balance
— concentration
— discipline and responsibility
— self-confidence

Systematic training helps a child see results: new skills are reinforced, movements become more confident, and motivation grows. It also develops psychological resilience—patience, consistency, and a habit of working towards results.

The system is:
— logical learning
— development without overload
— stable progress
— strong character
— long-term results

It is the system that turns training into a true athletic journey. At SBSK, each program is built sequentially: from basics to technique, from coordination to confident actions. We support the child at every stage of development.

Strong athletes are formed by the system.
