Estonian Aikido Federation/Федерация Айкидо Эстонии Estonian Aikido Federation is a public non-profit organization created for development and cooperation people who practicing Aikido.

Aikido (合気道) is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba (植芝 盛平) as a synthesis of his martial studies (Daitō-ryū Aiki-jūjutsu and different schools of jujutsu) and philosophy. Aikido derives mainly from the martial art of Daitō-ryū Aiki-jujutsu. Aikido translated as "the Way of unifying (with) life energy" or as "the Way of harmonious spirit. Aikido is performed by blending with the motion of the attacker and redirecting the force of the attack. There is no competition in Aikido and practiced kata: multiple repetition of techniques until they become natural.

✨ Today we celebrate the birthday of Aikido’s founder, Ueshiba Morihei. Born in 1883 in Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture, his legacy lives on.

Let's express our gratitude for the gift of Aikido and the joy of sharing its practice each day.

And also note that Tanabe City will be hosting the next International Aikido Summit in 2028. ✨
