Thank you for being patient and understanding regarding the recent race course update! We understand that there are many questions and we are trying our best to answer everything as fast as possible :) We have also sent all the information to the athletes via e-mail so be sure to check your inbox!
❓ What other changes will the swim course location update cause for the race?
✅ The update will mostly affect the bike course and T1 area. Run course and T2 changes are minimal. The finish and competition centre will stay at the Unibet Arena.
❓ Where can I find the updated maps?
✅ The updated course maps and GPX maps can be downloaded from the IRONMAN Tallinn and IRONMAN Tallinn 70.3 websites (links in the comments). The Strava course maps are also now updated and ready! We have also added the pictures of the maps to this post.
❓ Is it possible to train on the updated course before the race?
✅ Most of the course is accessible at all times before the race. However, there are some parts of the course, where it is not permitted to train before the race or outside official trainings for safety reasons.
🏊♀️ Outside official trainings and the competition, swimming in Lake Raku is not permitted or safe. During the competition week, official secured swimming trainings will take place in Lake Raku at the following times:
💧 19 August from 10.00 to 12.00
💧 20 August from 10.00 to 12.00
💧 21 August from 13.00 to 15.00
🚴♀️ A part of the bike course runs on a highway (marked with yellow on the updated maps). For safety reasons, athletes are not allowed to train on this section of the course before the race day.
🏃 The run course is fully accessible and safe for training before the race.
❓ Will there be bus transport before and during the race?
✅ Buses are planned for:
🚌 travelling to the official swimming trainings held from Wednesday to Friday (dates and times of the trainings are in the event schedule);
🚌 taking the bike and equipment to the transition area on Friday and Saturday;
🚌 reaching the start on the morning of the competition day on Saturday and Sunday;
🚌 travelling back from Unibet Arena to the city centre after the competition.
The exact bus schedules will be published in August.

We are pleased to announce that the swimming distances of the 2026 IRONMAN Tallinn and IRONMAN 70.3 Tallinn will take place in Lake Raku.
The swimming location has been one of the most complicated issues in the organisation of IRONMAN Tallinn throughout the years. In Lake Harku, there has been a risk of water quality and blue-green algae every year, whereas in the sea, the swimming depends very much on the water temperature, wind and sea conditions. Due to these risks, we have also had to change the swimming location during the competition week – for example, in 2019 and 2024.
After several years of work and cooperation with the City of Tallinn, Silikaat AS and other partners, we have reached a solution that provides the competition with a more stable, safer and better plannable swimming location.
💧 Lake Raku is a body of water with good water quality, clear water and sufficient depth. The average depth of the lake is 6.4 metres and the maximum depth is 18.7 metres. Compared to the previous swimming locations, Lake Raku reduces both the risk of a sharp change in water temperature and the risk of water quality.
👉 Please take into account that outside official trainings and the competition, swimming in Lake Raku is not permitted or safe. During the competition week, official secured swimming trainings will take place in Lake Raku. You can find the training dates and times in the event schedule on the official website.
🚌 Bus transport will be organised for competitors. Bus transport is free of charge for competitors. The exact bus schedules will be published in August on the official website.

❗️Ujumiskoht kolib Raku järve!❗️
Meil on hea meel teatada, et 2026. aasta IRONMAN Tallinn ja IRONMAN 70.3 Tallinn ujumisdistantsid toimuvad Raku järves.
Ujumiskoht on olnud IRONMAN Tallinna korralduse üks keerulisemaid küsimusi läbi aastate. Harku järves on igal aastal olnud veekvaliteedi ja sinivetikate risk, meres aga sõltub ujumine väga palju veetemperatuurist, tuulest ja mereoludest. Nende riskide tõttu oleme pidanud ujumiskohta muutma ka võistlusnädalal – näiteks 2019. ja 2024. aastal.
Pärast mitmeaastast tööd ning koostööd Tallinna linna, Silikaat AS-i ja teiste partneritega oleme jõudnud lahenduseni, mis annab võistlusele stabiilsema, turvalisema ja paremini planeeritava ujumiskoha.
💧 Raku järv on hea veekvaliteediga, läbipaistva veega ja piisavalt sügav veekogu. Järve keskmine sügavus on 6,4 meetrit ning suurim sügavus 18,7 meetrit. Võrreldes seniste ujumiskohtadega vähendab Raku järv nii veetemperatuuri järsu muutumise kui ka veekvaliteedi riski.
👉 Palume arvestada, et väljaspool ametlikke treeninguid ja võistlust ei ole Raku järves ujumine lubatud ega ohutu. Võistlusnädalal toimuvad Raku järves ametlikud turvatud ujumistreeningud. Info treeningute aegade kohta leiab kodulehelt ajakavast.
🚌 Võistlejatele korraldatakse bussitransport. Võistlejatele on bussitransport tasuta. Täpsed bussigraafikud avaldame augustis.
