The Center for Microbiology and Phage Therapy at Zewail City is organizing a 3-day hands-on workshop on Microbial Biotechnology starting 14 September.

"Microbial Biotechnology" 🦠🧫

Participants will learn core molecular genetics and including DNA/RNA fundamentals, isolation, quantification, PCR, gel electrophoresis, primer design, and data analysis. The workshop also covers good lab practices, instrument use, and bioinformatics basics.

Trainees will receive a certificate with 24 training hours from Zewail City at the end of the workshop ✨

“Microbial Biotechnology”

✅ A fully hands-on training for 3 days, starting on 14/9.

This hands-on training builds core molecular genetics skills for work with bacteria and other microorganisms. Trainees learn to isolate and analyze genetic material using modern techniques, gain basic bioinformatics knowledge, and get oriented to current lab instruments—preparing them with both foundational and advanced competencies for the job market. trainees receive an accredited certificate from Zewail City of Science and Technology

Topics include:

Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

Instruments and reagents preparation for molecular biology

Fundamentals of DNA & RNA

DNA isolation techniques

DNA quantification and purity analysis

Specific primers for target genes

Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique

PCR amplification

Gel preparation and gel electrophoresis

Imaging and data analysis

Primer design
