Scope and Vision
About Fencing, the art of swordsmanship, has been practiced for centuries. Originally geared for combat, it is now staged for Olympic gold. The sport of fencing develops quick thinking, poise, agility and speed, as well as self-confidence and sportsmanship. Fencing is a lifetime sport, equally suitable for men and women, children and adults. Elite Fencing Academy in Alexandria , Egypt , under the direction of Head Coaches Ahmed Moussa \ Mahmoud Mansour, offers a range of fencing programs at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Programs Elite Fencing Academy is an unique Academy. We believe that a fencer’s first steps on the fencing strip are the most important ones he or she will ever take. That’s why the Academy’s approach to teaching is based on the following principles: • Age-appropriate teaching: We offer classes for every age group so that students can interact and socialize with their peers in a welcoming environment. • Small groups: All classes are limited in size. That’s how we guarantee the individual attention every student needs in order to master the complex sport of fencing. • 90-minute classes: Our classes last 90 minutes because new fencers have to develop various, very different skill sets. We take the time to work on agility and fitness, footwork, bladework, and bouting strategies in every class to develop competent, healthy fencers. Sportsmanship and Olympic values: Beyond athletic skills, our classes encompass the traditions and values of the Olympic sport of fencing. Our fencers practice true sportsmanship and become supportive teammates. We teach our students the history and the art of fencing and believe that both are crucial elements of our sport. • Minimum age of 8 years: Fencing is a challenging sport with rules that can be hard to understand and moves that can be difficult to execute for young children. Because Elite Academy prepares students for competitive fencing, we recommend to let children under the age of 8 develop their motor skills with age-appropriate workouts and join our program when they are ready. Fencing Classes This class is an introduction to fencing for beginners. Students master the fundamental skills of fencing. While fencers learn about all three disciplines of fencing (épée, foil, sabre), new students are welcome to join at the beginning of each new session. Students stay in this class for several sessions until our coaches are sure that they are ready to move on to the next level. Adult Fencing for All Levels Our adult fencing program combines all levels of fencing for ages 14-99. At the beginning of each session, we welcome new beginners. Adult fencing classes include conditioning, footwork, class drills, and of course bouting. Fencers work in groups according to their skill level. Classes are offered in 7-week sessions. Individual instruction is not offered during adult fencing classes, but is available outside of class time to interested fencers. New fencers can borrow club equipment at no additional cost at the beginning, but we expect all competitive adult fencers to use their own equipment during practice. Offered classes : Class Schedule & Fees Beginners Classes : 400 EP for Egyptians / 150$ for foreigners Per-month . Advanced Level Classes : 850 EP for Egyptians / 350 $ for foreigners Per-month . Training Hosting And bouting : 40 EP for Egyptians / 25 $ for foreigners (2) hours
