YOGA🌸
WHAT IS YOGA?
Yoga is an ancient Indian culture and involves deep breathing, asanas (physical poses), and concentration. There are different versions about the meaning of the word "yoga" which researchers still argue about. The most popular versions are two - according to the first, yoga is the ultimate goal of all activities, as a result of which you acquire a spiritual state of unity with the universe and inner harmony. Then the word can be translated as "union". Another version claims that yoga is translated as "curb" and the main goal becomes the process of practice itself, during which you learn to control the senses.
Learning to feel and control your body, relieve muscle tightness and blocks, maintain the body in a healthy state - yes, these are necessary components of the practice. But more than two thousand years ago, yoga was the last thing to think about the beauty of the body.
And they certainly could not imagine that the knowledge that was initially discovered and available exclusively to the male select stratum of the higher castes would become popular among almost ninety percent of the female population.
The concept of "yoga" includes as many as eight steps and asanas :
1️⃣Pit - self-restraint
2️⃣Niyama - established rules
3️⃣Asana - postures
4️⃣Pranayama - breath control
5️⃣Pratyahara - removal of the senses
6️⃣Dharana - concentration
7️⃣Dhyana - meditation
8️⃣Samadhi - a state of bliss
ANCIENT KNOWLEDGE AND MODERN MAN
One of the main tasks of yoga is to realize the true nature of oneself, and therefore the surrounding reality. Let me remind you that the practice of asanas, or, as it is also called today, yoga gymnastics (work with the muscle frame, joints, spine) is just one of the steps of yoga.
Competently performing the sequence of asanas with the imposition of correct deep breathing on them, trying to think only about what you are working on now, on this or that clamp in the body, trying to understand its causes, letting go of all unnecessary tension from the body, you open for yourself this or a different degree of knowledge!
Initially, every person is aware of their individuality. Look at the children! But over the years, it is gradually overshadowed by stereotypes and patterns imposed by society. Psychological trauma is reflected in our bodies in the form of muscle cramps.
Practicing yoga, through the release of tension and relaxation, we work to open our natural awareness, develop in ourselves the possibility of an undistorted perception of everything that we see, hear, and feel.
And, changing the quality of this perception, we begin to think differently, change the attitude towards ourselves, towards others. From now on, society does not control us, now we begin to live consciously, the main thing is that we begin to live.
ADVICE❗️
1. Take your time - not only in practice but also in life. Everything that you have to do, you will definitely be on time.
2. Life, in principle, is one big practice. On the rug, you are just preparing to leave the hall and put into action what you have learned, what you have learned, discovered for yourself in the classroom, and are now ready to carry into the world.
3. Trauma is inherent in any work with the body. If you treat everything without fanaticism and know what not to do, then we can safely say that you are protected from any unpleasant consequences.
4. If you want to start doing yoga, but do not know where and to whom to go, then it is very useful to listen to the word of mouth of your friends and follow their recommendations.
THE BEGINNING OF THE WAY
Before proceeding to practice, you should familiarize yourself with the basic concepts, anatomical features of the structure of the human body, learn how to breathe, stand, and walk correctly. In a word, master the basic knowledge necessary to immerse yourself in this ancient Indian discipline.
And this requires not one or two, but ten-fifteen lessons. Only after having mastered the basics, you can move on to constant streaming practice, consolidating and deepening the knowledge gained. At the same time, it is important to focus on correct breathing, which always goes in a duet with a change in the position of the body on the mat, on the correct performance of asanas, and compliance with safety precautions.
Otherwise, you can earn a sprain or even damage to the joint, as, indeed, when performing other gymnastic exercises. You should constantly listen to your body and the instructions of the instructor.
If you feel that you are not sufficiently prepared, follow the simplified version, do not rush ... And of course, the professionalism of the teacher plays an important role here.
