Getting ready for a brief summer pause, and closing out the first half of this coaching season.
Looking back at my sessions with senior leaders over H1, a striking pattern emerged. It remains consistent regardless of role, industry, or organizational pressure.
Leadership is rarely a strategy gap. It is almost always something deeper: presence, internal regulation, and the invisible dynamics shaping decisions in real time.
Across the board, the same shifts kept appearing:
• Presence outweighs performance: provided that presence is anchored in value and clear impact.
• Politics is structural, not a distraction: navigating it is part of the job, not a detour from it.
• The nervous system quietens or clouds executive judgment: internal state shapes external decisions.
• Over-functioning is a trap: it is frequently mistaken for leadership.
• Resilience is baseline regulation: the speed at which you can return to clarity.

There’s a unique stage in life that catches you by surprise. You look around and realize you’ve been standing in the same place for years, yet almost all the faces around you have changed.
Over time, you begin to understand that longevity is not simply endurance. It’s the ability to remain psychologically agile without becoming disconnected from yourself. In environments that are constantly evolving, your anchoring mechanism cannot stay static; it has to mature alongside the change.
For me, that grounding has come down to a few non-negotiables:
• The emotional capacity to keep showing up consistently, wholeheartedly, even through transition and ambiguity.
• A deliberate commitment to authenticity; preserving alignment between who I am internally and how I lead externally.
• The relational intelligence to read the room wisely, understand shifting dynamics, and respond with awareness rather than resistance.
• The adaptability to evolve behavior and approach without compromising core values.
Because true presence is not reshaping yourself for every new environment, It’s developing the discernment to honor what was, accurately assess what is, and remain rooted enough to navigate what’s next.
That, perhaps, is the quieter form of resilience no one talks about enough.
Perception Matters: You’re not stuck… you’re just not positioned clearly.
Orgs don’t promote confusion. They promote vision, clarity, and value.
Here is a tip, define what you do in one line:
I help ___ achieve ___ by ___
Live up to it...and show it (seeing is believing).
Because if you don’t position yourself...someone else will do it for you (and you -probably- won't like it.

مصر بجد ولادها شاطرين. 🇪🇬✨
كان ليا الشرف إني أكون عضو لجنة تحكيم في النسخة الخامسة من برنامج “قادة الأنشطة الطلابية” مع Youth Leaders Foundation (YLF).
أكثر حاجة شوفتها بوضوح كانت الروح…إزاي بإمكانيات بسيطة، لكن بحلم كبير وإصرار حقيقي، شفنا مشاريع وأفكار بتنافس بمستوى عالي. اليوم ماكانش بس مجرد مناقشة لمشاريع تكنولوجيا وذكاء اصطناعي، كان درس واضح في المثابرة. شباب بيأكد كل مرة إن العائق الحقيقي مش قلة الموارد…العائق الوحيد هو الاستسلام.
كم الطاقة، والاجتهاد، والأفكار اللي شفتها من طلبة الجامعات ملهم و يخلّي أي حد يطمن على مستقبل مصر. ونريح شوية من الجملة بتاعة الشباب مش عايزين يتعبوا بيدوروا على السهل.
فخورة بكل مشروع، بكل فكرة، وبكل شخص اشتغل من قلبه عشان اليوم ده يطلع بالشكل ده.

Put leaders in an improv exercise for 15 minutes… and suddenly you see everything. In that unscripted space, the masks drop. You see:
-Who actually listens vs. who is just waiting to speak.
- Who shuts ideas down with a subtle "No, but..."
- Who needs total control to feel safe.
- Who creates safety for others to take risks.
That’s why I’ve become deeply interested in using improv inside leadership development. Not as entertainment, but as a live diagnostic for communication, collaboration, and trust under pressure.
What surprised me most?
The most resistant leaders usually end up having the biggest breakthroughs.
“Leadership Unscripted” has been one of the most "human" corporate rooms I’ve facilitated in a long time.
