25 years of FLYSURFER — a new look and a new generation of gear. 🚀
The newest of it just landed on our beach in El Gouna: the new SOUL⁴ and the Fusion² control bar, out of the bag and ready to fly.
We keep a few of every size — 7, 10, 12, 15, 18 — so there is one for whatever the day gives you. The first 30 minutes are free; after that it is normal rental, and if it wins you over, you can order your own through us. It is not locked in the test centre either: when it is free, the SOUL⁴ goes out in the regular rental too.
The largest Flysurfer Test Point — which is the whole point: you do not read about a kite, you fly it.

Who wants to kite during a solar eclipse?
Monday, 2 August 2027. Around 13:00 local time, the Moon covers roughly 98.5% of the Sun above El Gouna (98.54% measured for Hurghada). Not a sunset — a midday one. The light drains, the air cools, and the lagoon turns that strange brass-yellow of a dusk that arrives four hours early. Then it all comes back.
To be precise: El Gouna sits just outside the path of totality. What we get here is a deep PARTIAL eclipse. The band of full totality crosses Egypt further south — Luxor and Marsa Alam, roughly a 2-hour drive from us. If you want totality, that's a day trip; if you want to be on the water when the day goes dim, you want to be here.
SAFETY, and we mean it: even at 98% covered, the remaining sliver of Sun will wreck your eyes. Never look at the Sun without certified eclipse glasses (ISO 12312-2) — not through sunglasses, not through a phone screen, not through a GoPro. We'll have certified glasses at our beach on the day.
One honest note: we can promise you the eclipse, not the wind. Nobody can. But we've been teaching and riding on this lagoon since 2004 — first and oldest kite school in El Gouna — and we know what to do with a day either way.
