Last week two incidents took place at the Brothers Island involving the oceanic whitetip sharks (« Longimanus ») due to the ignorance of the divers, crew and especially dive guides !
Accidents has already happened in the past in Egypt on people swimming at the surface. The « Longimanus » are active and opportunistic feeders on the surface so DO NOT STAY/OR LIMIT your time at the surface on offshore reefs (Brothers island, Daedalus reef & Elphinstone).
Sharks are extremely important for the touristic diving economy of Egypt. The egyptian governement has by the past showned its ways to solve these issues by killing the shark to regulate and assure safety to the swimmers.
PROTECT THE RED SEA SHARKS by following easy guidelines (here bellow) to avoid further incidents on divers/swimmers and so further shark slaughters.
