Next time, when you go scubadiving, think about this:
❌7 things to avoid after diving❌
1️⃣ Flying
❗️ Flying causes a drop in pressure, which can increase the risk of DCS.
✅ Wait 12 hours after 1 dive.
✅ Wait 18 hours after multiple dives.
✅ After exceeding the decompression limit, wait 24 hours.
2️⃣ Alcohol
❗️ Drinking alcohol dehydrates the body. Dehydration increases the risk of DCS.
❗️ Alcohol hinders the excretion of nitrogen from the body.
✅ Before drinking alcohol, wait a few hours and drink water beforehand.
3️⃣ Taking a hot shower or bath
❗️ Does the body warm up, this increase the likelihood of bubble formation.
❗️ The tissue is warmed up before blood flow increases.
✅ Wait 30 minutes before showering.
4️⃣ Deep tissue massage
❗️ Increased blood flow = Bubble formation
❗️ Muscle soreness is a sign of DCS = unnecessary doctor visit and misdiagnosis
✅ Wait at least 12 hours after diving.
5️⃣ Freediving
❗️ Returning to depth and then surfacing again affects the desaturation of nitrogen.
✅ Wait 24 hours after diving.
6️⃣ Sports/heavy physical exertion
❗️ Physical exertion after diving can increase the formation of air bubbles in the body.
✅ Wait 4 - 6 hours after diving
7️⃣ Smoking
❗️ Increases the risk of DCS
❗️ Smoking constricts blood vessels and puts a strain on the lungs, thereby slowing down nitrogen removal.
✅ Do not smoke for 1-2 hours after diving.

*Interview*
We asked directly our divers - and they answered honestly:
Diver Martin & Christopher
1️⃣ What was your personal highlight?
"We were able to experience many special moments together on this vacation.
We were particularly impressed by the wreck of the Million Hope. Even though we also dived the Dunraven, the Million Hope was a real highlight for us. Even from the surface, the sight was breathtaking, as part of the wreck was already visible above the water. Being able to dive inside the wreck made the experience even more special.
Equally fascinating was Shark & Yolanda Reef with its impressive variety of colors, vibrant corals, and huge numbers of fish. Gordon Reef also thrilled us – the seemingly endless coral landscape and our encounters with sharks made this dive truly unforgettable."
2️⃣ How was your first night dive?
"Our first night dive was actually much better than expected.
You're much more focused because you only perceive what the light from your lamp illuminates. This makes the dive feel more intense and calmer. The reef was beautiful. We discovered numerous starfish and even saw a crab. We were particularly fascinated by the plankton. The moment we turned off the light, everything around us began to glow – a magical sight and an unforgettable experience."
3️⃣ Would you come again?
“I, Christopher, am actually a repeat offender. I already did my Open Water Diver course with you in 2015, and during this holiday I immediately said to Martin: Let's go back to Sunshine Divers Mary&Klaus – they're simply fantastic. It was quickly clear to us: we would come back anytime and are already looking forward to seeing you again.”
