Vitamin D:
Get a little bit of sunshine every day - another enjoyable and free delight in life
The sun not only lifts your mood by producing happy hormones but also, when absorbed through your skin, synthesises Vitamin D.
Vitamin D is important for overall good health. It is also an important factor in making sure your muscles, heart, brain, lungs work well and that your body can fight infection.
It can also be found in foods such as mushrooms, eggs, tuna, cheese, butter, cream and sardine.
Cats and dogs cannot synthesise vitamin D efficiently through absorbing sunshine so they need to get it from food (our little Mukti does not understand that but he still loves to captures every bit of ray that shines through the windows :)
He is not aware either that skin exposed to sunshine indoors through the window does not produce vitamin D, but he definitely spends enough time, 10-15 minutes three times weekly, on the balcony under direct sunlight, were his little body able to synthesise it :P
15 mins of sunshine outdoors, 3 times a week, that's all it takes. ENJOY!

Ok, so maybe this time we got carried away... But if you could smell this photo you would understand why!
This farmer's stall by the side of the road is such a great find! This will last us up to 2 weeks and still be crisp and fresh and bursting with flavour by the time we munch on the last leaf :)

Walk - such a simple and "free" luxury!
There is no excuse not to - get off one stop before, park further away, do it with someone you love to chat to (in person or on phone), listen to your fav tunes, a meditation or any other personal development recording...and SO much more!!

Longer veg life in fridge:
There is no better way to get longer lasting, fresher, more tasty and crisp vegetables than a visit to the farmers market! Often the vegetables and fruit are harvested on the day, if not pulled out of the ground for you there and then :)
Wash veges just before use as moisture encourages them to mould in the fridge. If you do wash them to refrigerate, dry them before doing so.
A quick reminder that tomatoes are best out of fridge, upside down. Potatoes, garlic, onions, squash are best in cool dark place.
Remember to eat your daily 5 veg 2 fruit! :) Enjoy! # # #
INSPIRATIONAL EXERCISE for the day:
1. Make a list of 10 (or as many as you like) ways to change how you feel, to go from pain to pleasure, and how to feel good immediately.
2. Notice how many positive choices you have for making yourself feel good e.g. listen to fav tune, going for a run, bike ride, swim etc, writing, smiling, taking a deep breath, hugging someone, learning something new.... and so much more -anything that does not involve an addictive source
3. Carry this list with you in your wallet and be constantly reminded of all the different ways you can instantly feel good.
