🌍 Catalonia takes centre stage in world orienteering
We are proud to officially present two of the most important international orienteering events of the coming years: the Orienteering World Cup Final Tarragona 2027 and the World Orienteering Championships Girona 2028.
🏆 OWC Tarragona 2027 will host the final round of the Orienteering World Cup, bringing the world’s best athletes to Tarragona on 30–31 October 2027. The season’s overall titles will be decided in spectacular urban sprint races set among the city’s UNESCO World Heritage Roman and medieval landscapes.
🌍 WOC Girona 2028 will be the first World Orienteering Championships ever held in Spain. Taking place from 26–30 April 2028, the event will feature Sprint Qualification, Sprint Final, Knock-Out Sprint and Mixed Sprint Relay competitions across Girona and other locations in the province, showcasing some of Catalonia’s most iconic urban environments to a global audience.
These events are part of a long-term vision to establish Catalonia as a leading destination for international orienteering. Following the successful organisation of WMOC 2025, the region will welcome athletes, teams, officials, media and fans from across the world, while generating a lasting sporting, tourism and economic legacy.
This is more than a competition. It is an opportunity to showcase our cities, culture, landscapes and passion for sport on the world stage.
