I’m working on my forehand, again.. because the players who improve the most are usually the ones willing to put their ego aside and stay humble enough to keep learning. 😇 One thing is clear 👉🏼 real progress comes from being honest about your flaws, tweaking your game instead of protecting your pride, and listening to people who can see your tennis from the outside. So please help me! 🙏🏻
🎾 Improvement in tennis isn’t about proving how good you are; it’s about constantly accepting that there’s another level to reach, another adjustment to make, and another lesson waiting every time you step on court. Am I right or am I right? 🥹

🎾 OUTDOOR FUNCTIONAL WORKOUT FOR TENNIS PLAYERS 🎾
This outdoor functional workout is specifically designed for tennis players to improve speed, agility, explosiveness, coordination, and on-court movement patterns. Performed outdoors or on a tennis court, the session includes 4 sets of 4 exercises combining plyometrics, cone drills, agility ladder work, and a finishing sprint to simulate the high-intensity demands of match play. Using simple equipment such as a bench, cones, and an agility ladder, players develop better footwork, faster reaction time, balance, and change-of-direction ability —> all essential for improving court coverage and overall tennis performance.
Functional training like this also helps reduce injury risk by strengthening movement mechanics used during real tennis situations. Save it and do it next time you’re working out !

🎾 Stop hitting weak smashes! Footwork tricks for more POWER and ACCURACY 👇
In this tennis lesson for intermediate players, we’re working on the smash shot, focusing on a key aspect: gaining power and better placement with the correct footwork 👣. The smash is an offensive shot performed overhead, usually when the ball is high, and is used to finish the point with power.

Through a progression of exercises, Javi will teach you to coordinate your feet, body, and arms, starting with basic movements and progressing to more realistic situations with moving balls and jumps. We also correct common mistakes, such as poor preparation or incorrect arm use.
In addition, we include practical exercises to improve your backswing, reaction time to lobs, and intensity on the court, helping you reach difficult balls better and execute a more effective smash. Our lesson is ideal for intermediate players who want to take their smash to the next level.
💡 The main takeaways from this intermediate level tennis lesson are:
🔸 Move quickly and efficiently, especially backward, using crossover steps instead of just lateral ones.
🔸 Raise both arms as quickly as possible to anticipate and position yourself under the ball.
🔸 Synchronize your feet, body, and arms for a smoother, more powerful, and controlled smash.
🔸 On more difficult shots, jump and rotate your body to generate power
🔸 Improve your reaction time to lobs by adjusting your foot speed and positioning according to the ball.

These are some of my favourite exercises to improve my and . They are perfect for when you want to vary your training or if your courts are closed.
Having good reflexes is important for tennis players 🎾 especially for those who often play at the net. When you come to the net you will be much closer to your opponent and the ball. The ball will be coming at you at a fairly high speed 💨 so you need to learn to react quicker to gain time.
I have selected 7 exercises for you to speed up your reflexes. To do those drills you will need a tennis buddy. Why? Because in order to practice reflexes you need someone else to throw the ball at you or hit to you. An element of surprise is necessary for you to learn to guess and find patterns.

Let’s see three fitness exercises that can be done during off-court hours to improve your reaction times and raise your heart rate, therefore maximise your cardio.
The whole training takes 30 minutes to accomplish, including a 5-minute warm-up and cool-down 📈 📉. In this workout I trained at high 90-95% intensity and the duration of each exercise was very short. This kind of training is used at the end of your periodization plan, just before starting to compete where you do shorter workouts at high intensity, and it’s called realization macrocycle.
Sets last for around 20 to 40 seconds and they represent bursts of energy 💣💥, simulating playing a point in tennis🎾. They are followed by a short rest, similar to the rest between points. Remember to dynamically stretch before trying to do sprints to avoid any injury.
