Proud moment for the whole Hurricanes family
After months of training, early mornings, tough sessions and complete dedication, the team brought home medals from the European Va’a & Outrigger Championships 🏆
Our ladies secured Silver in the 500m race 🥈
Our men brought home Bronze in both the 500m and 1000m turns races 🥉🥉
Results like this do not happen by accident. They come from teamwork, commitment and a huge amount of hard work behind the scenes.
Massive congratulations to every paddler, coach and supporter involved. Proud to see Hurricanes represented on the European stage 👏

Paddling gives us peace
Working together gives us peace
Training sessions reduces tension
Being on the lake reduces tension
Saturday mornings we all come together, launch the boats share the lake with others including the ducks and ducklings
Today we welcomed 6 guests to share a taster
Couple of springs 200m 500m. Helm in training did some great turns, even the ‘tricky’ right hand turn
Also it’s great when the sun shines

Sunshine, flat water, and two full boats out on the lake today.
We split into practice crews ahead of Barcelona Dragon Boat Championships in three weeks.
Ladies Masters. Senior Masters. All Ladies. All Seniors.
Sharp focus on 200m sprints.
Starts on six.
Twenties.
Tens.
Dialling it in where it counts.
We even had a “winners” boat and a “winners not” boat… I’ll let you guess which one I was on 🤣
Great to welcome three new guests into the crew today.
Perfect conditions, but more importantly, a team that pushes, supports, and brings out the best in each other every session.

What a way to close out the long distance season.
30+ minutes on the water.
A flying start.
Power, control, and grit all the way to the line.
We held our nerve through rough water, fought through tight turns, and found another level when it mattered.
🥈 2nd place. Proper team effort.
Huge credit to every paddler, our steers, and the support crew behind the scenes. Special mention to our guest paddler from Thames Dragons who slotted straight in.
Proud of this crew. Proud of that finish.
Next stop: Barcelona 👀

Get ready for an unforgettable day on the water! This year’s Charity Dragon Boat Race is open to novice crews only — no professional teams allowed! Whether you’ve never paddled before or just want to have some fun for a great cause, this event is for you.
Who Can Join?
✅ All fitness levels welcome
✅ Ages 16+
✅ No experience needed – we’ll show you how!

🚣 Maximum team size: 14 paddlers
🔄 Have more than 14? Rotate paddlers between races!
