If your child is a snorer or a mouth breather during sleep it could be effecting their behaviour.

I don’t mean occasionally snoring or mouth breathing, I mean every night. Not when they have a cold or are congested but every night.

If you answered yes to one or more of these 5 questions and your child is a mouth breather or snorer it’s worth looking into more. It could be a red flag 🚩

I talk about this in detail in my newsletter this week, comment or dm and I will send it over to you 🩷

Did you know that mouth breathing during sleep can cause behaviour that mimics autism and ADHD?

When a child mouth breathes during sleep their tongue doesn’t touch the roof of their mouth. This means the body never gets into rest and digest. It stays in fight or flight all night long.

And a child who has been in fight or flight all night simply does not have the resources to regulate their emotions during the day.

The meltdowns, the dysregulation, the lack of concentration, the sensory overload - these can all be signs that your child’s nervous system is completely exhausted.

A nervous system that has never had the chance to properly rest.

This is why I always look at red flags first. Because sometimes the answer is not what we expect.

Does your little one mouth breathe or snore during sleep?

This is really important information my friends and it is often overlooked.

Mouth breathing during sleep and snoring every night is a red flag, it can cause:

😔 Dysregulation and meltdowns
😴 Frequent night waking
👂 Hearing difficulties due to lots of mucus being produced
🗣️ Speech delays
🤢 Digestive issues
🧠 Behaviour that mimics autism and ADHD

And it can all start with a traumatic birth - forceps or ventous delivery, a really fast delivery can all cause tension in the neck and jaw that nobody ever checks for. Oral dysfunction, tongue ties are also an issue that can go missed.

If your child shows any of these signs please read my newsletter this week - comment or dm me and I will send you it over. 🌟

Babies are not checked for jaw or neck tension and we are not told this could be a problem by the professionals and to be honest this has to change 😞

Tantrums and meltdowns are tough. They are tough for us as parents to deal with especially when it’s every minute of the day and it’s tough for our little ones too.

Once you understand why your child is acting in a certain way it really makes it easier to help them.

I can teach you strategies and give you the tools to reduce meltdowns and support your child during these tough moments. They are going to happen, it’s part of their brains development……

DM me or comment, let’s chat 🥰

4/4 - This is what I want for every family I work with 🥹

Not just a baby who sleeps

A family who feels rested

A home where the mood is lighter

Parents who have more patience

A relationship that has room to breathe again

Because when nobody sleeps everything suffers.

And when everyone sleeps - everything changes 🌟

If you have been watching this series this week and thinking “I need this” - send me a DM. I would absolutely love to help your family get here too.

No cry it out. Ever.

3/4 - From wrestling match to calm and peaceful 🥹

This is what happened within just one to two days of working together.

No cry it out. No leaving her to scream. Just a gentle approach built around her and her little one.

The wrestling match at bedtime became calm moments, low lighting and books together.

And she now sleeps through the night.

This is what is possible when we understand what your child actually needs 🩷

2/4 - This is why reaching out is so hard 🩷

When you are in the thick of sleep deprivation and exhaustion it is almost impossible to see the situation clearly.

The brain fog is real.

The overwhelm is real.

Sometimes you just need someone on the outside to look in, assess what is really going on and guide you through it gently.

That is exactly what I am here for.

No judgment. No cry it out. Just gentle, personalised support built around your child and your family.

1/4 - A real client. A real story. 🩷

This is what life looked like before we worked together.

Broken nights. Exhausted parents. A bedtime that had become something nobody in the house wanted to face.

Sound familiar? 😔

If you are nodding along right now - keep watching this week. Because this story has a very different ending

One of my absolute favourite strategies to add to your bedtime routine is a worry doll, worry teddy, worry box or worry bag - and the reason I love adding this to bedtime specifically is because this is when little ones are at their most relaxed and open.

At the end of the day our children are often quietly replaying what has happened or thinking ahead to what is coming tomorrow. Their minds are busy even when their bodies are still.

This is the perfect moment to give those thoughts and worries somewhere to go - when we share our thoughts they get lighter or disappear like fairy dust.

And trust me - you will be absolutely surprised by how much your children start to talk once you create this space for them.

Starting nursery or school in September is a massive milestone for our children and can cause anxiety and worries. Introducing a worry doll, box or bag is a beautiful strategy to introduce now.

Talking about worries is one of the 7 areas I cover in my free Big Day Ready mini series - 7 days of short videos dropped straight into your inbox to help you and your little one feel emotionally prepared and confident for the big day.

Comment or dm me “SCHOOL” and I will send you the link.
