Sorry for the delay in giving you all an update on how we did on Saturday, we were all in recovery!!!
We all did extremely well and we're pleased to say that 6 of the Javea Triathlonistas completed the race. Unfortunately our lovely Ang got completely wiped out not just once but two or three times by some extremely rough waves. We all struggled to battle against the rough conditions and Ang was determined to carry on, telling the rescue boat she was fine and could carry on but unfortunately she had taken in too much salt water and had to be rescued for her own safety as she was still being battered by the sea. We were all gutted for her but Ang is not one to be defeated easily and is determined that all the hard work she put into training won't go to waste and will be back out training again this week!!
The rest of us carried on and all managed to finish in under 2 hours which we are really proud of. Emma, Kathryn and Fran were well under the 2 hours! A big well done to them!
Thank you to everyone who came down to cheer us on, it really kept us going. Was great to see so many friendly faces. Plus all those that have sponsored us and helped us raise much needed funds for both charities. Also a big thank you to the rescue team and Red Cross for looking after our Ang so well! And finally a massive thank you to our families that have shown us so much support over the last few months, without them this would have been so much harder to do! We love you all!
Watch this space.......!!!!!!!
