This fish was caught at the river Ladra last week on a spinner it was about 5.5 lbs absolutely huge. Our guests have caught quite a few fish over the last few weeks averaging about a pound but due to the cold wind we have had they have all been caught on weighted nymphs as the fish have not been rising due to a lack of hatches. The weather seems to be improving today and the forecast remains good for the next week, so the fishing seems set to improve. Don't forget Fly Fishing Galicia is for sale, tell all your friends.

Hello everyone, we are finally back in Spain so a quick update on the fishing. Kevin hasn't been out yet but the rivers are much lower than usual, still a bit high for perfect fishing but should be fine in a few weeks. The leaves on the trees are starting to come out and spring has well and truly sprung. We are looking forward to our first guests coming in May and fingers crossed the rivers will be perfect. Due to family issues we are not accepting anymore bookings for this year and are hoping to sell our house with the business included free of charge, for more info watch this space.

Well it has been a while since I posted anything, we have had quite a few people here fishing but the weather in August was terrible which is very unusual, warm but cloudy and stormy and the barometer was all over the place and the only days to catch fish were the sunny settled days, any other form of weather was impossible. Some good news normally all the day ticket areas shut on the 15th of August however this year they closed on the 31st July for kill tickets but remain open until the 31st of September for catch and release, which means that only one of our normal fishing spots, the roman bridge, is closed in September and that the Casa de Radio on the Rio Ladra remains open. mainly small fish caught by our guests over this time however a local fisherman caught a biggy at the motorway bridge. Enjoy your fishing

Internet issues remain but I get on when I can. Telefonica are the bane of my life and everyone elses. Still not to worry. Had our first guy who didn't catch anything the other week, why I just can't say however I think he and his wife enjoyed their time here travelling around the area and eating great food, they even went to a horse fair where the wild horses on the moors are corralled and then descisions are made on which ones to sell, the priest was blessing the crowd from the sound stage the pop group were going to use later, if he could have played the instruments he could have had accompaniment. They went to the pre historic village, did the walls in Lugo, the beach and lots more besides. Then the next day after they left another guy came from Holland and caught, 2 decent trout at the big mill numerous pound plus Dace and 2 decent trout at the secret spot all in one day. What can I say it must be in the wrist action.

I have been having some internet issues so haven't posted anything for a while, the joys of rural Spain!! Here are some photos of fishing last week, quite a few good fish have been caught at the motorway bridge, it has been too deep to fish there until now so it is a joy to see it open again, three or four fish have been caught each session and the small tan emerger pictured has been very successful. The weather has been a bit mixed and we have had some rain and even hail stones but the forecast looks to improve for next week. Enjoy your fishing

Some great fishing this week, the glorious weather has allowed for some beetling at mid day and three trout were caught on beetles today and at the same spot, the chapel, two on small emergers. Kevin has been here so went out fishing with John and John caught a pounder at the water counter on the far side of the river, this can be a decent spot in the mornings. The evening rise saw six fish caught in one night on small clinkhammers all about a pound but needless to say the ones that got away were bigger! I now have next week free again, it must be destined to be a week off for me and also the fish.
