🇪🇸𝗜́𝗯𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗼𝘀 — 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗿𝗮 𝗽𝘆𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗲: De mayor tamaño corporal que el resto de subespecies. Los machos viejos se vuelven completamente negros con el pelaje de invierno. Los cuernos más típicos forman una lira de hasta cuatro curvaturas. Habita en la Sierra de Gredos, la vertiente norte de Ávila en Castilla y León y el sur de Extremadura; reintroducido en la Reserva Regional de Caza de las Batuecas (Salamanca), en las de Riaño, Ancares y Mampodre (León), Sierra de Guadarrama (Madrid y Segovia), Montes del Invernadero (Orense, Galicia) y varias sierras de Castilla-La Mancha.

The most typical horns form a lyre with up to four curvatures. 🇪🇸 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗢 𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗨𝗠 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳 — 𝗣𝗘𝗣𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗧Í El pasado 7 de septiembre, la Junta Directiva de la Cofradía Culminum Magister decidió otorgar el Premio Culminum Magister 2027 a nuestro cofrade Pepe Martí.
Dicen que a la montaña se sube por pasión, pero en el caso de Pepe sospechamos que también hay un toque de terquedad. Tras años recorriendo los macizos más lejanos del mapa tras cabras salvajes —acumulando kilómetros de desnivel como para haber subido el Everest un par de veces—, sigue enganchado al “sufrimiento vertical.”

Galardonado con reconocimientos internacionales como el SCI World Hunting and Conservation Award, Pepe encaja este Culminum Magister como la excusa perfecta para reunirse con amigos, contar buenas anécdotas (algunas incluso verdaderas) y seguir buscando la próxima cumbre. Porque para él, la caza de montaña es vivir grandes historias sin perder nunca el humor. Nuestra más profunda enhorabuena. 🏔️

🇬🇧𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗨𝗠 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳 — 𝗣𝗘𝗣𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗧Í On September 7, the Board of Directors of the Cofradía Culminum Magister decided to award the 2027 Culminum Magister Prize to our fellow member Pepe Martí.

They say you climb mountains out of passion, but in Pepe’s case we suspect there’s also a touch of stubbornness. After years roaming the most far-flung massifs chasing wild goats—racking up enough vertical kilometres to have climbed Everest a couple of times over—he’s still hooked on “vertical suffering.”

Honoured with international recognitions such as the SCI World Hunting and Conservation Award, Pepe sees this Culminum Magister as the perfect excuse to gather with friends, tell good stories (some even true), and keep chasing the next summit. Because for him, mountain hunting is living great stories and never losing your sense of humor. Our heartfelt congratulations. 🏔️

🇪🇸Prestigio : Existen especies de montaña que en virtud de la limitada disponibilidad de licencias, dificultad ligada al hábitat, situación política de las áreas de caza e incluso precio, gozan de un prestigio que CM clasifica en 5 estratos.
La deseabilidad que nuestra Cofradia reconoce en ciertos animales aun siendo subjetiva, permite a CM proponer una escala fruto del consenso de su Comisión Ejecutiva, y aceptando el modelo como abierto y revisable en función de la deriva biológica y avatares que con el tiempo puedan sufrir las especies recogidas en nuestra lista.

🇬🇧Prestige : There are mountain species that, due to the limited availability of licenses, the difficulty linked to the habitat, the political situation of the hunting areas and even the price, enjoy a prestige that CM classifies in 5 strata.
The desirability that our Cofradia recognizes in certain animals, even though it is subjective, allows CM to propose a scale resulting from the consensus of its Executive Committee, and accepting the model as open and reviewable according to the biological drift and avatars that the species included in our list may suffer over time.

Caza en los cinco continentes y se convierte en el primer español que lo hace en algunos países como Mongolia, Nepal y Afganistán. Consigue más de 240 especies diferentes, algunas tan emblemáticas como el argali de marco polo, el marjor de Kabul o el baral del Himalaya, los cuatro carneros salvajes de Norteamérica y los nueve antílopes espirilados de África. El autor estaba entre los grandes cazadores del mundo y por ello se le había reconocido con el Premio Weatherby, en 1997, considerado el premio Nobel de la caza y la conservación, y el Premio Carlos III de la Real Federación Española de Caza, en el año 2004.

🇪🇸Premio Culminum Magister 2010 — Enrique Zamácola Millet Madrid el 23 de septiembre de 1940. Es licenciado en Derecho en 1961 y realizó diversos cursos de gestión empresarial tanto en España (IESE) como en el extranjero.
Enrique Zamácola fue designado candidato al premio Weatherby el año 1997, siendo elegido ganador en el año 2000. Ha cazado en 67 países diferentes y destacan los cuatro carneros americanos y una extraordinaria colección de argalis y carneros asiáticos junto a tres variedades de marjor.
PREMIOS: Weatherby Award 2000, entregado por Don Quayle, ex vicepresidente de los EE. UU.; Grand Slam.

Con coloración castaña y canosa, destaca la melena de pelos largos y color claro y una cola muy pequeña Cuernos masivoscuyas puntas raramente sobrepasan el nivel de los ojos. Ocupa la mayor parte de la meseta tibetana en China.

🇪🇸«Las condiciones Culminum Magister para considerar piezas cinegéticas son:

AUTÓCTONA: Garantiza la rusticidad y la adaptación al medio y defensa.
LIBRE: Aquí no hay matices. El Cofrade Culminum no contempla el artificio en su paisaje. Todo mallado permeable o no, perimetral o parcial, condiciona el comportamiento del animal y por eso no considera el alambre como variable cinegética. El culminum caza en abierto.
SILVESTRE: Natural. La pieza de caza nace, vive, crece y se reproduce en el campo, sin intervención humana. Con esta propuesta CM se OPONE a la cría en cautividad con fines cinegéticos de cualquier especie de montaña.»


🇬🇧The Culminum Magister conditions to consider hunting pieces are:
INDIGENIOUS : Guarantees rusticity and adaptation to the environment and defence. Only considered for its geographical and biological uniqueness, New Zealand (tar and chamois) for the lack of indigenous native ungulates and reintroduced Mouflon in Europe and Barbary sheep in Spain and Texas (US).
FREE: Here there are no nuances, the Cofrade culminum does not contemplate the artifice in its landscape. Any permeable or non-permeable fence, perimeter or partial, conditions the behaviour of the animal and therefore does not consider the wire as a hunting variable. The Culminum fellow hunts in the open.
WILD: That is, natural, the game is born, lives, grows and reproduces in the country, without human intervention. With this proposal, CM OPPOSES the captive breeding of any mountain species for hunting purposes, and does not consider prepared game as a sport alternative.

🇪🇸El esfuerzo es la tercera condición para que la caza sea digna de un ser racional, es decir, de un cazador. Toda obra humana se dignifica y se aprecia por el esfuerzo, lo que no cuesta no se valora; una cacería tan fácil que no implique mover la voluntad para vencer no merece el nombre de cacería.

El esfuerzo, por tanto, es la expresión del desafío que existe entre la inteligencia del hombre y las superiores condiciones físicas del animal, es la medida de la dificultad que ha de vencer.» Y recupera a Jenofonte, siglos antes de Cristo: «Los caçadores sino excediesen a los otros en trabajo, industria, diligencia y cuidado, cierto es que no traerían caça.»

🇬🇧Effort is the third condition for hunting to be worthy of a rational being, i.e. a hunter. Every human work is dignified and appreciated for its effort; what it does not cost is not valued; a hunt so easy that it does not involve moving the will to win does not deserve the name of hunting. The effort is therefore the expression of the challenge that exists between the intelligence of man and the superior physical conditions of the animal, it is the measure of the difficulty that must be overcome.

That effort of the hunter was already noted by Xenophon, five centuries before Christ: “The caçadores would not exceed the others in work, industry, diligence and care, certain is that they would not bring caça. For the wild beasts, which are his adversaries, fight for life, and every man in his habitation is of great strength: so that in vain would be the work of the chaçador but he would overcome them with greater industry and great understanding.
