Con coloración castaña y canosa, destaca la melena de pelos largos y color claro y una cola muy pequeña Cuernos masivoscuyas puntas raramente sobrepasan el nivel de los ojos. Ocupa la mayor parte de la meseta tibetana en China.

🇬🇧Tibet argali — Ovis ammon hodgsonii
Long haired and light coloured ruff, with brown greyish body. Tiny tail with massive horns that rarely pass the eye socket. Inhabit in the major part of the Tibetan Plateau in China.

AUTÓCTONA: Garantiza la rusticidad y la adaptación al medio y defensa.
LIBRE: Aquí no hay matices. El Cofrade Culminum no contempla el artificio en su paisaje. Todo mallado permeable o no, perimetral o parcial, condiciona el comportamiento del animal y por eso no considera el alambre como variable cinegética. El culminum caza en abierto.
SILVESTRE: Natural. La pieza de caza nace, vive, crece y se reproduce en el campo, sin intervención humana. Con esta propuesta CM se OPONE a la cría en cautividad con fines cinegéticos de cualquier especie de montaña.»


🇬🇧The Culminum Magister conditions to consider hunting pieces are:
INDIGENIOUS : Guarantees rusticity and adaptation to the environment and defence. Only considered for its geographical and biological uniqueness, New Zealand (tar and chamois) for the lack of indigenous native ungulates and reintroduced Mouflon in Europe and Barbary sheep in Spain and Texas (US).
FREE: Here there are no nuances, the Cofrade culminum does not contemplate the artifice in its landscape. Any permeable or non-permeable fence, perimeter or partial, conditions the behaviour of the animal and therefore does not consider the wire as a hunting variable. The Culminum fellow hunts in the open.
WILD: That is, natural, the game is born, lives, grows and reproduces in the country, without human intervention. With this proposal, CM OPPOSES the captive breeding of any mountain species for hunting purposes, and does not consider prepared game as a sport alternative.

🇪🇸El esfuerzo es la tercera condición para que la caza sea digna de un ser racional, es decir, de un cazador. Toda obra humana se dignifica y se aprecia por el esfuerzo, lo que no cuesta no se valora; una cacería tan fácil que no implique mover la voluntad para vencer no merece el nombre de cacería.

El esfuerzo, por tanto, es la expresión del desafío que existe entre la inteligencia del hombre y las superiores condiciones físicas del animal, es la medida de la dificultad que ha de vencer.» Y recupera a Jenofonte, siglos antes de Cristo: «Los caçadores sino excediesen a los otros en trabajo, industria, diligencia y cuidado, cierto es que no traerían caça.»

🇬🇧Effort is the third condition for hunting to be worthy of a rational being, i.e. a hunter. Every human work is dignified and appreciated for its effort; what it does not cost is not valued; a hunt so easy that it does not involve moving the will to win does not deserve the name of hunting. The effort is therefore the expression of the challenge that exists between the intelligence of man and the superior physical conditions of the animal, it is the measure of the difficulty that must be overcome.

That effort of the hunter was already noted by Xenophon, five centuries before Christ: “The caçadores would not exceed the others in work, industry, diligence and care, certain is that they would not bring caça. For the wild beasts, which are his adversaries, fight for life, and every man in his habitation is of great strength: so that in vain would be the work of the chaçador but he would overcome them with greater industry and great understanding.

🇪🇸Juan Luis Oliva de Suelves, Premio Culminum Magister 2009, publicó en 1998 La técnica de la caza de montaña (Sevilla), la obra de referencia en español sobre cómo cazar en alta montaña.

Oliva fue pionero en no pocas cacerías internacionales: Mongolia, donde consiguió uno de los argalis de mayor tamaño allí abatidos; Afganistán, en busca del mítico carnero de Marco Polo; o las selvas primarias de África.

Su obra completa incluye también: La técnica de la caza en selvas y sabanas (2001), La cabra montés. Situación, caza y gestión (2006), Luna llena de Medouné (2008) y El tigre y el Marco Polo, 1969, 1975 (2012).

En 2015 recibió el Premio Literario Jaime de Foxá.

🇬🇧Juan Luis Oliva de Suelves, Culminum Magister Award 2009, published in 1998 La técnica de la caza de montaña (Seville), the reference work in Spanish on how to hunt in the high mountains.
Oliva was a pioneer in no small number of international hunts: Mongolia, where he took one of the largest argalis ever harvested there; Afghanistan, in search of the legendary Marco Polo sheep; and the primary forests of Africa.
He also has other books such as: La técnica de la caza en selvas y sabanas (2001), La cabra montés. Situación, caza y gestión (2006), Luna llena de Medouné (2008) and El tigre y el Marco Polo, 1969, 1975 (2012).

🇬🇧Pyrenean chamois : The great opening of their horns stands out in some individuals. It is smaller in body size and horned than the Alpine chamois. Endemic to the Pyrenean mountains, in Spain, Andorra and France.

🇪🇸Queridos cofrades, El próximo día 4 de junio proyectaremos en Madrid la premiere de nuestro documental “Marco Polo”, una aventura de caza con arco en las montañas de Kyrgyzstan. 🇬🇧 Dear Fellows, On June 4th, we will be premiering our documentary Marco Polo in Madrid, a bowhunting adventure in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan.
This is a very special project for us, the result of years of travel, effort, attempts, and countless hours of filming in one of the most remote and demanding environments we have ever experienced.
For this reason, and knowing that many of you share the same passion for the mountains, solitude, effort, and silence, I wanted to personally extend this invitation in case you would be interested in joining us for this presentation.
In addition, all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated in full to conservation projects through SCI Iberian Chapter and Fundación Artemisan, supporting the conservation project dedicated to combating sarcoptic mange in the Beceite ibex population.
