There’s a version of the N110 that only exists when the road is closed to cars — no traffic, no noise, just you, the tarmac, and a landscape that stops you mid-pedal stroke to just… look.

That was this morning. Solo, on the Miranda Ti, with nothing between me and the road but titanium and silence.

Some rides are about numbers. This one was about the view.

Trans Balkan Race Recap Tag 1

So heftig dass das schon über einen Monat her ist 🫣

Ich war vor diesem Rennen echt nervös, vor allem wegen dem DNF letztes Jahr. Mein Hauptziel war es dieses Jahr zu finishen und den Balkan zu genießen. Ich hatte aber auch riesigen Respekt vor der Route, der Hitze dem technischen Untergrund und das ich wegen einem technischen Defekt oder etwas anderem nicht auf der körperlichen Ebene abbrechen muss. Seit dem DNF letztes Jahr ging mir dieses Rennen nicht mehr aus dem Kopf und ich wusste dass ich hierher zurück muss.

Start war an Tag 1 um 09 Uhr und es ging nicht wie letztes Jahr in Sezana sondern dieses Jahr in Triest los. Nach dem Start in Triest ging die Route dann aber identisch zu letztem Jahr weiter und so hatte ich schon den Vorteil das ich grob wusste wo es Resupply gab und vor allem wo nicht. Nach ein paar Schwierigkeiten kurz nach dem Start ( Meine Lampenhalterung ist abgeflogen weil die eigentlich direkt neben die Vorbauklemmung soll, wo aber die Aerobars montiert waren) und der improvisierten Reparatur mit Isolierband ging es direkt ins Slowenische und später ins Kroatische Hinterland, wo wie letztes Jahr auch schon die Hitze erstmal ein Schock war und unter der ich echt am Leiden war. Tag 1 hat sich aufgrund von noch sehr dichten Starterfeld auch weniger angefühlt wie ein Ultra sondern mehr wie ein Ein Eintagesrennen bei dem jede Minute zählt. Die Aussicht war, obwohl ich sie vom letzten Jahr noch kannte trotzdem atemberaubend und ich war froh das es endlich losgeht. Abends ging es dann zur ersten richtigen Möglichkeit für Resupply und da hab ich aus meinen Fehlern vom letzten Jahr gelernt und vor Ort so viel wie möglich gegessen und auch noch was mitgenommen gehabt. Danach ging es in die Nacht hinein in Richtung Fuzine und dann noch in den ersten längeren Anstieg hinter der Stadt. Ich hatte mir vorgenommen mit 5h Schlaf am Tag anzufangen und dann bei Möglichkeit zu reduzieren. Also hieß es im Anstieg, aufgrund von immer höher werdender Müdigkeit ab in den Schlafsack und schlafen.
