CAN U SEE WHAT I SEE 🧠

My coaching is more than macros & progressive overload. For starters, how can you progressively overload if you’re not loading the muscles correctly (if at all) in the first place.

I’m showing Amber exactly what I can see from the video of MYSELF. Yes, I still to this day 10 years in, need to video myself and check my technique. Sometimes I can feel that the exercise isn’t right, sometimes I’m blissfully unaware 😇

What my clients know me for.. ‘you’re not wrong, you’re just not right’ and I genuinely mean it, you’re not wrong. We could just make it better 🤭

Nothing was ‘wrong’ here… but I knew it could feel better. I adjusted my hips, knees and ankles, slowed the movement down and instantly felt more quad engagement.

I love when these slight changes over time change how the muscle grows, how the body moves and overall posture.

I’m not just thinking about the load and how much you can lift. I’m thinking about your joints, your stability, how much tension is actually in the muscle you’re trying to build, are you thinking about the movement, is this the most suitable exercise for you and YOUR body. The list goes on.

Don’t pay attention to others in the gym when it comes to filming your exercises. It’s all good practice 🤌🏼

(Also, if anyone knows the song in the third clip, please please please message me. I can’t for the life of me remember the name of it 😂)

WHEN YOU FINALLY STOP LIVING FOR AND AROUND EVERYONE ELSE

I stopped waiting for someone else to go and do what I wanted.. if they joined, bonus ✨

I choose friends that value the same things as me and lift me UP!!!

I started asking myself ‘what do I want to do today?!?’

I thought about what makes me happy and what benefits my life? Lots of exploring in nature, being with my friends, travelling abroad, SINGING AND DANCING, anything that involves water 😇😂

For ONE day… wake up and ask yourself ‘what can I do today that will fill me with joy regardless of anyone else’

My confidence has rocketed. The trust I have in myself now is more than ever before. I’ve learned the ability to say no to things I don’t want to do. I’m open to trying more things and I have the courage to speak to anyone. 💃🏼

I wouldn’t change my way of living now for anything in this world 💛

Last year I was eating 1,400-1,500 calories running 4-5 x a week, lifting 2 x a week. Which was weird for me actually as I’ve always strength trained. It was amazing for me to diverge because I learnt another side of training I had never even considered.

Fast forward a year and I’m back lifting 5 x a week BUT still running 1-2 x a week (max). I loveeeeee the running, I really do but I always gravitate back to lifting and making that a priority. I’ve been eating between 1,800-2,000 calories.

If I didn’t work two jobs and have my little boy I’d probs throw myself into lifting and running 4-5 x a week. Sometimes it can feel frustrating not actually having the freedom or time to live my life like that however I dooooo make the time where I can. Lately it’s been 6am gym sessions. Couple of years ago I’d have turned the alarm off and told everyone to fk off. I now wake up straight away and I’m EXCITED to go 💪🏼 singing my heart out on the way with my coffee ☕️

Perspective is everything. I started appreciating the little things and practicing gratitude. Life can truly be amazing. All you need to do is shrug at the s**t you can’t control and buzz about the things you are ABLE to do.

I’ve always talked openly about how important mental health is.. it’s the main reason I became a coach. Not just weight loss/strength training. But because the effects it has on our mental. It’s liberating.
