Mazarrón FC 2–2 Santa Cruz

Tercera Federación – Group 13 | 20 September 2026

Mazarrón FC were denied their first victory of the season in cruel fashion as Santa Cruz struck from the penalty spot in the fourth minute of added time to sn**ch a 2–2 draw.

Having lost their opening two league fixtures, Mazarrón made a difficult start when the visitors took the lead inside the opening three minutes. Santa Cruz capitalised on their early opportunity to establish a 1–0 advantage and put the home side under immediate pressure.

Mazarrón responded with greater purpose and made two changes in the 34th minute, with Puche replacing Belami and Angel coming on for Yannick. The adjustments helped the Mazarron build momentum, and their pressure was rewarded five minutes later when Feli found the net to level the contest at 1–1.

The sides went into half-time on equal terms, with Mazarrón having recovered well from their early setback and Santa Cruz still posing a threat on the counterattack.

The second half remained tightly contested, with neither side able to establish sustained control. Mazarrón, however, continued to press for the decisive goal and were rewarded in the 83rd minute when Arturo converted from the penalty spot to put the hosts ahead for the first time.

With Mazarrón leading 2–1, the referee indicated five minutes of added time. The home side made a triple substitution in the 90th minute, as Alejandro, Marin and Abellan replaced Arturo, Valdeolivas and Feli.

Those changes could not prevent a late Santa Cruz revival. In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Armando calmly converted a penalty to restore parity and deny Mazarrón a hard-earned first win of the campaign.

The final whistle confirmed a frustrating 2–2 draw for Mazarrón. Despite surrendering the lead at the death, the hosts showed character in recovering from the early deficit and secured their first point of the season.

Final score: Mazarrón FC 2–2 Santa Cruz

Goals: Santa Cruz 3’; Feli 39’; Arturo 83’; Armando 90+4’.

Cautions:
Mazarron, Belami
Santa Cruz: Soto, Ledesma, Martinez, Edu

Bala Azul 1–0 Mazarrón FC

Tercera Federación – Group 13 | 12 September 2026

Mazarrón FC suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat in the local derby against Bala Azul at the Estadio Playa Sol, in a game that ultimately proved as frustrating off the pitch as it was on it.

There was little to separate the two sides during much of the opening period, with both teams battling hard for control in a typically competitive local derby.

Mazarrón looked to settle into the contest and create opportunities, but Bala Azul remained well organised and made it difficult for the visitors to find a decisive opening.

However, just before the interval, Bala Azul struck what proved to be the decisive blow. Tomás Cruz Adarve found the net in the 45th minute to give the home side a 1–0 lead going into the break.

From a Mazarrón perspective, the first half was also notable for the number of stoppages. Bala Azul appeared determined to disrupt the flow of the game, and the referee’s whistle seemed to be working overtime. At one stage, you could have been forgiven for thinking it might need replacing at half-time!

Mazarrón came out for the second half knowing they needed a response and pushed for an equaliser. Despite their efforts, however, they were unable to find the goal they needed.

Bala Azul defended their advantage and managed the closing stages effectively to claim all three points.

For Mazarrón, it was another frustrating narrow defeat following the 2–1 home loss to Cotillas in the opening home fixture. The result leaves Mazarrón still searching for their first points of the new Tercera Federación campaign, while Bala Azul move on to four points from their opening two matches.

The final whistle brought an unsavoury end to an already feisty derby. Bala Azul celebrated their victory with plenty of emotion, almost as though they had won the league, before tensions boiled over between the players.

The aftermath culminated in two red cards, one for each side. There were also six yellow cards shown to Mazarrón and five to Bala Azul, underlining just how heated the contest had become.

Derby matches are always passionate affairs, but ultimately the football should be what takes centre stage. Hopefully, the players can put the incidents behind them and concentrate on what matters most — getting points on the board.

The derby may have gone Bala Azul’s way this time, but there is a long season ahead. As the saying goes, it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

And so we look forward to the next game — once again at the Deportivo — when Mazarrón welcome Santa Cruz on Sunday, 20 September, with kick-off at 17:30.

Let’s get back to winning ways!

Vamos Mazarrón!

Year after year, season after season, we turn up.

Not just for the football, but for the people. For the familiar faces, the handshakes, the laughs, the cheers — and that feeling of being part of something that belongs to the community.

Because amongst us, living ordinary lives, are the lads who pull on the shirt of Mazarrón FC. Neighbours, friends, familiar faces from the streets and cafés, suddenly becoming footballers under the lights.

We follow them whatever the season brings — the highs, the lows, the wins, the defeats. We keep coming back because that’s what Los Amigos do.

Football may last ninety minutes, but the memories last much longer.

Mazarrón FC — our town, our team, our friends.

And we’ll be there again next season. And the season after that.
Siempre Mazarrón.
