Our horse’s comfort is always top of the list. By regularly cleaning your horse’s rugs you are not only keeping them from irritating your horse’s skin (build up of dirt) but you are also extending the life of the rug!
Therefore having to replace them less regularly ( & saving 💰💰💰)

If you are cleaning at home, try and remove as much excess dirt of before putting in the washing machine. This means less to scrub and rinse off later.

(📌 Please note; not all rugs can be put in the washing machine. For example turnout rugs will loose their waterproof lining if detergent/fabric softener is added to the cycle)

After using the washing machine you will probably want to put it on a rinse cycle a few times to ensure all the dirt and hair is out of the system.

The accumulation of sand in the digestive tract of the horse can cause chronic diarrhoea , weight loss and colic.

Sand colic is where sand accumulates in the horse’s digestive system and can cause irritation, inflammation and impaction colic.

HOW DOES SAND GET INTO THE GUT❓

Horses ingest sand and dirt from their environment all the time, however, when the ground is very dry (90% of the time in Spain) horses pick up sand as they eat hay fed from the ground.

WHY IS SAND A PROBLEM IN THE GUT❓

If you have ever tried to wash sand away (for example, clearing up after a beach day) you’ll have noticed how persistent the sand is at hanging around and blocking the plug hole! This blocking effect is exactly what can happen in the horse’s gut too.

HOW CAN WE REMOVE THIS SAND ❓

Psyllium Husk.

Our Sandout Pellets contain over 90% high quality pelleted psyllium husk aswell as an added live yeast probiotic to aid digestion and restore healthy microbiome damaged by sand ingestion.

They are also in a highly palatable form (pellets instead of the powder) and easy to mix in feed.
