Yanmar Dragon Gold Cup in Puerto Portals:
Today, the terral decides. 9:30 on the Bay of Palma.
SUI or GBR?!
The final chapter of the Yanmar Dragon Gold Cup is being written right now in the Bay of Palma — hosted for the very first time ever at Puerto Portals.
An amazing elite fleet of 65 Dragons competing with over 250 international sailors from 17 countries.
And the final battle comes down to those two:
🇨🇭 SUI vs 🇬🇧 GBR — separated by just half a point after one week of racing. With no DC allowed.
It doesn’t get tighter than this.
“Ginkgo Racing” (SUI), skippered by Jan Eckert, holds the top spot with 18 points, with “Louise Racing” (GBR), helmed by Grant Gordon chasing hard o 18,5.
Every single point has been hard-earned — and every single point today will decide history.
The Race Committee moved today’s start forward to 9:30h this morning, chasing the terral breeze to make sure today’s decisive race happens. After a week where the Bay of Palma tested every crew to their limits, the Gold Cup needs to crowns its champion.
About the Gold Cup:
Born in 1937 and one of the most iconic trophies in one-design sailing, the Dragon Gold Cup has finally arrived at Puerto Portals — and it’s delivering the drama worthy of its legend.
The event is organised by Club de Regatas Puerto Portals in collaboration with the IDA, the CYCA, the Federació Balear de Vela and the Spanish Dragon Associatio.
Stay tuned for the final results.

Amazing SWAN 70’ Caveo - stunning cruiser racer at a very competitive price: asking only 1.170.000€ incl. VAT.
Built in 2001, UK Flag, lying in Badalona.
A good opportunity to acquire a SWAN on time to enjoy the 60th anniversary Regatta of Nautor’s Swan in Porto Cervo and become part of the Swan family. Caveo has definitely winning potential!
And she is a very well built and maintained Swan in good condition, and big fun to sail on. 💙

Meeting the design legends German and Mani Frers at Nautor’s Swan during boot Düsseldorf. Listening to the story of the very first Swan 51, created over 45 years ago, and seeing how that original vision has evolved into the beautifully refined and more sustainable Swan 51 of today was truly inspiring.
And I loved meeting the designer of our little Swan 36 — designed by German Frers back in the 1980s.
True style never goes out of fashion.
And definitely a fun evening to remember…
Have a look at the Swan 51 at the show — and don’t miss playing That Board Game… which, admittedly, Meike won…

Best Christmas gift ever:
Changes made it to Mallorca.
122 lightning strikes, 44 falling stars, 6 dolphins, and one reed warbler later, we arrived in Palma.
What a journey it has been.
Taking her from the Baltic to Marseille, enduring heavy weather and the Mistral on our way to Barcelona, then waiting for the right time slot to bring her over—electric thunderstorms, huge waves, and boat shows all made it seriously difficult to finally bring her home.
As she is a tough cookie, the Mistral only proved her seaworthiness.
In Barcelona, she was warmly welcomed at the RCNP, home of Mariska, Yanira, and Halloween.
Leaving early in the morning, perfectly timed for the bridge opening, the sea was calm, but the wind was rather strange due to all the thunderstorms around us. At least we had some wind.
The little warbler was the cutest. He spent quite some time with us on board. At first, he was completely exhausted; later, he checked us out, decided we were harmless, and started hopping on our heads and hands. He even spotted a moth—completely invisible to us—and went hunting. We thought he had left us, but he turned around and came back with his lunch. The sweetest thing.
We could see rain all around us, but somehow we were spared. At night, my entertainment to stay awake was counting falling stars and lightning strikes—122 on my watch alone. I never expected that many. And of course, I wished for all our falling-star wishes to come true.
The first one definitely did: not hitting any fast ferry or cruise ship…
In the very early morning, we arrived in Palma. And we are very happy that Changes now has a new home at .
Thank you Jorge Sanz for sailing with us and Andres for organising our overnight stay in RCNBarcelina.
