Theresa and Christopher have definitely eaten a lot of carbonara over the last few weeks 🍝😄
So here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at how the German 50 470 team has been spending the past month! 🚀
After the Hyères Regatta, they headed to Kiel to prepare the containers for their upcoming trips to LA and Japan for the Long Beach Regatta and, of course, the World Championships.
At the same time, a brand new boat was prepared as well ⛵️
Since then, the German squad has been training in Ostia alongside their Italian friends until the end of May 🇩🇪🇮🇹
In June, the whole team will be back in Kiel for another training block before racing at Kiel Week!
And then it’s finally time for the big trip: first LA, then Japan ✈️🌎
- 🎙️ A lot of hard work behind us and some super exciting weeks ahead 🥳 said the crew

Behind the scenes with Japan 22 🇯🇵
Ahead of the 470 Worlds in Japan, many teams chose Santander as their training venue, among team Tetsuya Isozaki & Yurkie Seki.
The Japanese duo knows the Enoshima venue inside out after growing up sailing there, so this summer they joined the international 470 fleet in Santander to prepare for the world championship.
“We’re training in Santander, Spain 🇪🇸 Excited to train with top international sailors and take our sailing to the next level! ⛵️💪🔥” — commented the team.
